Dallas is out. 4 teams battling for 3 seeds in NFC. NYGL is in, but we don't know what seed; all 3 other teams control their destiny, but one will be out.

Arizona Sinners have played 5-0-3 in their 8 games in NFC since starting mid-season. That gives them 0.625 win percentage. Only due to the 2 forfeit losses "gained" by their predecessor they miss the play-offs.

We accept the ruling in this point, but nevertheless are sad about being cut off from what could be ours.

But there might be another way to deal with this, without forcing the rules committee to loose its face or constituting a precedent.

If our record of 0.625 would be good enough to grab one of those Wildcard seeds
- which consistently means there is an actual NFC Wildcard holder with a worse record -
the Arizona Sinners CHALLENGE this team to go for a deciding game. Just the two of us... and propably your chaplain of trust.

So...

... if you think, you earn this seed, defend it!

... if you think, we don't earn it, defeat us!

... if you think, you can easily beat us any time or place, then PROVE US WRONG!

Because we won't step back from this challenge!

Of course if you are a little pussey without the coyotes to stand this challenge, we accept that, too.
Simply draw in your horns, duck this one out and live with the shame. We'll remind you when we meet next.

Relish the bridesmaid's role, FRSHMN. Gives you a moral high ground.

well challenged, Frosh, I like the bravado, but I'm willing to bet every team will go into the playoffs any way they can and not risk one more game even to a willing and feisty upstart

But then the question is: Who really is the bridesmaid in that scenario? Wink

Also, .625 might not be good enough. If I beat Dallas, New York is at 64/98, and Carolina be above .625 on a win or tie (.632 on a tie) while if they lose it means Detroilet is above that. You're in the wrong conference, I'm afraid.

(Mayhem! Mayhem!)

And Flashington (8-3-3) seals the NFC East and the #3 seed, leaving Green Ball (7-5-2) in at #4. New York is in the #6 seed, or #5 if Carolina and Detroilet tie (Car gets in on marginal VP, but it costs them one spot in the seeding if they tie). Bring on NYGL or Carolina!

K, here's the remaining drama. I'm sure somebody will correct me if I'm wrong. All tiebreakers are based on VP and conference records; I didn't have to go any farther than that.

NFC: Five of six teams (Sea, Atl, GB, Flas, NYG) have clinched, but the order is not set. If #2 Atlatl beats Green Ball, they would still need Seattle to lose vs. In-Sane Louie to take the #1 seed. If Green Ball wins or ties vs Atlatl, they'll be the #3 seed, and Flashington #4. If they lose, flip that order. The winner of Detroilet vs. Carolina is the #5 seed (Detroilet beats the Giant Leeches on tiebreakers, with a better conference record) and the loser goes home. If the game is a tie, the Giant Leeches are #5 and Carolina is #6, and Detroilet goes home.

AFC: Three of four divisions are locked, and four teams have earned a playoff berth. San Dogo is #1 on tiebreakers over #2 Hacksonville. If Cincy beats Cleave Land, they're #3 over New Angryland. If they tie, NA is #3 and the Bludgeoners #4: if Cleave Land wins, they're #4 and Cincy is #5. Oakland can guarantee a wildcard seed on a win. If Houston beats Indy, they hold the tiebreaker over Denver, should Denver win, and both are over Cleave Land should they tie Cincy. Miami is next if they beat Buffalo: at this point it's win-and-hope territory for them. If Denver and Oakland tie, Denver is toast, but two out of a Cleave Land loss, a Miami loss or tie, or a Houston loss or tie could save Oakland.

Remaining Games, in order of playoff drama
1. Car vs Det: Winner is in, loser is out. Carolina is in on a tie.
2. Oak vs Den: Oakland is in on a win, Denver needs a shade of luck, and can drop some boots even if they don't win.
3. Cle vs Cin: Cleve Land is in on a win, and has a prayer on a tie. Both teams could suffer damage going into the playoffs.
4. Hou vs Ind: Houston is in a strong position on a win, but nothing is guaranteed.
5. Mia vs Buf: A win for Miami is, at the time of this writing, a license to hope.
6. Atl vs GB: This game has minor seeding implications. Plus it gives two good teams a chance to soften each other up.
7. Sea vs InsL: If Seattle loses they could lose their top seed. A Seattle win would be good for Insane Louie's draft position.
8. Chi vs Min: Usually in "dead" games like this, one team plays for pride and one for health and draft position.

Oh, and FRSHMN, FWIW, at this point conclusively 5-0-3 would be a lesser VP% than any NFC playoff team. But your draft position would be slightly worse if we did it that way….
