NWL Battleground is back!!!!
The group page is still blank but it is set up. Give me this weekend to fill in the fluff, rules and some new twists that I have been thinking about.
For all you new coaches here is what battleground is all about.
1)Monthly KO tournaments.
2)Batlleground Rumble...a swiss tournament that runs the entire month...a nice tourney for those who like to get games against fellow league members on those nights you dont have a league or open play match.
3)4 team SMACK action...it fell by the wayside the first year but Iam going to attempt to get that up and running...a nice option for a slow night and 4 coaches want to play a 4 team one night tournament.
4)Northern Waste Battle Royale...NEW Feature....Ok this is one of my new ideas...and attempt to get 32 or 64 team tournament up and running. This will not be a monthly KO...I think every 3 to 4 months I will attempt to get it going. BUT this will require atleast 32+ coaches to get going. Heavy advertisment on the forums and such will be required. BUT with enough hype and publicity it should be no problem to have a huge tournament of EPIC size. Heck lets talk big...a League KO tournament that rivals a Major in terms of # of teams.
SO get your teams applied to the group so I can start getting everything set up and ready to go.
The first tournament of the year will probally kick off in a week or so depending on level of interest. |

Part of me says to allow only new FFB teams in..
BUT
That would not be in the spirit of the Battleground...SO all LEAGUE teams, converted or new, will be allowed to apply to Battleground.
Battleground will be a FFB only league...there will be NO LRB4 matches or teams.
Of course if there is a outpouring of support to keep some of the old lrb4 teams around I might ponder on that. |

That is the "official" count based on how many have applied.
I have been trying to maintain an "unofficial" count based on people I have seen say they would join and some past members that I would expect to return. The number I had at last count was 31... so the possibility still exists that we could reach past 30 coaches if a few more new players join and the other guys join.
This season is going to be awesome. Get into the NWL now!!! |
