Full credit to Roadtoad for a solid game last night, but even now 12 hours later I find myself frustrated with these fail Nurgles. I'm not sure if this team is cursed, or if I'm simply incapable of coaching Nurgles to victory.. I suspect the answer lies somewhere in the middle.

The Rot-Nucks are officially on notice. If they don't turn things around in a real hurry, our annual season-ending trip to the glue factory will be a one way trip.

(If they do managed to turn things around at least somewhat, we still go to the glue factory but there's pie afterwards).

OK, done whining.

Week 1 is done, with no unplayed games or mysterious disappearances. Thanks guys! Now do it again. Smile

Week 1
AWC South vs. NWC North

Argentine Noldorins 1 - Nocturne Falls Honey Badgers 1

Nocturne Falls caged up and edged in. They got into scoring distance, stalling until a KO'd mummy prompted the score. Pitch Invasion complicated the last couple turns of the half. A Noldorin failed a dodge while trying to blitz a path to the end zone, then another failed on turn 8 while trying to reclaim the ball for a desperation pass. Argentina took a two-turn TD to start the second. Honey Badgers CAS'd two Noldorins on the line as they restarted their grind. The Nocturne Falls cage advanced to scoring range by turn 6. On turn 7 Nocturne Falls rerolled a Skulled blitz, but still tried a handoff to manage their SPP, and the ball was dropped. Argentina used a blitz to bounce the ball, then AG5 to steal it out of two TZs, passing backwards to deny the score.

Detroit Delvers 2 - Copper Island Chargers 1

Copper Island's first turn ended prematurely when a followup Frenzy block was downgraded to a 1d, finding only Both Down, and their second on a failed pickup. Detroit rolled up most of the Copper Island line, but Skulled a 1d near the end to leave a Charger unmarked. Copper Island made the pickup and passed to him, and he carried the ball most of the way to the end zone before being cut off. Copper Island failed a pass to get the ball clear, instead of trying the easier dodge, but Detroit failed a dodge after stealing the ball, and the Chargers recovered to score. Detroit passed the ball forward quickly on their possession, dropping the pass, but Copper Island failed another pickup. Detroit left the ball on the ground instead of trying a pickup. Copper Island bounced it, but it was caught by a Delver, and the hit on him was Skulled, letting Detroit tie the game. Detroit again passed forward quickly to start their next drive. The Chargers hit the ball-carrier but could not take him down, and Detroit used their own Frenzy players to surf two Chargers. Copper Island eventually evened the score with CAS of their own and took possession briefly, but Detroit lined up another surf and reclaimed the ball. Copper Island's chance at the ball was a 1d Skull, and the Delvers continued the beats. The Chargers had induced two Wandering Apothecaries for the game, and all three ended up being used - RIP into MNG, RIP into BH, and niggle into MNG - but Detroit wasn't done yet, killing an ulfwerener and MNGing another lino. The Chargers kept trying, landing another 1d on the ball, but that too was Skulled, and Detroit went up 2-1. With two turns left, Copper Island tried sending a runner in deep with the ball, but he was taken down.

Nehekhara Guardians 2 - Butte Kickers 1

Each side CAS'd a player on the first turn, presaging a bloody game. Nehekhara had some initial problems handling the ball, but recovered to run through the dwindling ranks of the Kickers for an eventual score. All four Butte KOs came back, but that still only left them 8 players for turn 8. They made the most of that, CASing two more Guardians to only be outnumbered by one in the second half. They were able to screen well enough to avoid blitzes on the ball but not well enough to stall, scoring on turn 5. A kick to the back corner left Nehekhara's +MA thro-ra scrambling to get forward in time, while the rest of the teams continued maiming each other, leaving a beastman dead and a tomb guardian with -ST. A Kicker managed the double-dodge to blitz the ball-carrier on turn 8, but could not take him down, and he blitzed his own path free to claim victory for Nehekhara.

AWC North vs. NWC South

New York Rats 2 - Vancouver Rot-Nucks 0

New York's master chef stole a reroll, as he would do again at the half. The Rats spread out across the line of scrimmage on offence, but Perfect Defence found them in close contact with the Rot-Nucks. They found a couple okay hits, but then failed a Sure Hands pickup. Vancouver knocked several Rats down and grabbed the ball, but Skulled the blitz after the pickup to dump the ball free again. New York failed a 3+ dodge through reroll as their first action, letting Vancouver actually get possession. A Tentacles escape let New York blitz the ball free, but it bounced to a player who had already acted. Vancouver tied him up on the sidelines, surfing him the next turn. The ball bounced towards the Vancouver end, and while they were able to get the ball, that area was immediately swarmed by Rats. A failed dodge dumped the ball free, and New York recovered it to score on turn 8. Bad KO rolls left the bodies at 10-7 for Vancouver in the second half. The Rot-Nucks got the ball, but could not protect it, and New York repeatedly swarmed it, finally downing the ball-carrier on a 1d and then stealing the ball. The ball changed hands a couple more times, but the stolen reroll came home as a failed GFI from Vancouver let New York get away for 2-0. Vancouver tried to score in the remaining turns, but a 1d blitz stopped that idea.

Cleveland Children 1 - St. Luna Cardiac Cardinals 1

St. Luna moved the ball up quickly, and Cleveland obligingly went for the turn 1 fireball, going 3-for-5 and KOing two Cardiac Cardinals. Hired star Skitter Stab-Stab grabbed the ball, but fumbled the pass back to safety, and St. Luna took the ball back. Cleveland's next turn ended on a failed dodge and the one after on a foul that featured a declined Bribe. The Cleveland blitzers were able to catch up with St. Luna's ball-carrier just short of the goal line to spring the ball, though, and St. Luna failed their pickup the next turn. The Children stunned the only nearby AG3 Cardinal, then grabbed the ball themselves and ran, only to be hauled down just shy of a goal themselves, ending the half with no score. The Children concentrated on beatings in the second half, removing a couple zombies from the field, but their ClawPOMBer, Brandon Weeden, was fouled for RIP, apo'd into BH. Cleveland ran their other blitzer in with the ball and screened, but were steadily losing players, and their ball-carrier was trapped against the sidelines. A -2d block for Pow and Pow/Push gave him a 2d blitz away, though, and he scored to give Cleveland the lead. St. Luna's return drive saw Brandon Weeden again taken down hard, this time for a niggle, and a failed Child dodge gave the Cardiac Cardinals an easy score with two turns left. A stupid troll and a failed dodge cost Cleveland their chance to score, but St. Luna could not find a Pow to take down Skitter Stab-Stab and try for a touchdown of their own.

AWC West vs. NWC East

Alethkar Shard Warriors 2 - Slann Frogcisco 49ers 1

Alethkar started on offence. They entered the game with only two rerolls as a result of salary cap cuts, and quickly burned through those with Skulls. Alethkar had the edge in brawling, but was unable to make any progress downfield, and a third set of Skulls KO'd one of their wolves. Slann Frogcisco popped the ball but failed the pickup, but Alethkar's first roll of the next turn was a 1, and a 49er took the ball in for a score. With two turns left in the half, Alethkar pushed in deep, but Slann Frogcisco knocked the ball free, snagging it out of midair with a catcher. Alethkar smashed him down, then made rolls to dodge, pick up, pass, and GFI to even the score. Slann Frogcisco received in the second half, moving the ball up into a cage. Shard Warriors surrounded them, and a 1d block from a 49er came up Skull reroll Skull. A Shard Warrior was able to blitz the ball free and grab it himself. Slann Frogcisco went for a 4+ dodge blitz with their kroxigor, but did not land that. Alethkar got free, and failed Leaps from Slann Frogcisco kept them from threatening the ball for the rest of the half.

Lindisfarne Midnight Sons 1 - Essen Exsanguinators 1

Lindisfarne started on offence, moving the ball up behind a screen. Essen Gazed past that to steal the ball, but their ball-carrier was exposed and promptly taken down. He jumped back up to blitz the ball free again, but it bounced a Midnight Son. Lindisfarne moved it back downfield, getting it near the goal line before failing a handoff to a rookie runner. Exsanguinators ran into the area, but failed the pickup, and one of the Essen vamps was surfed for a Badly Hurt before Lindisfarne made the pickup and scored. With three turns to go in the half, Essen ran some thralls into the offensive zone, but failed a block on the line. A failed pickup the next turn left them with several players in or just out of scoring range. Lindisfarne used their turn 8 to knock most of those down, but snaked Dauntless on a vamp through reroll, and found only Both Down. Essen used their blitz to chainpush that vamp into scoring range, then made rolls to pickup, pass, catch, avoid BL, dodge, and GFI to score. Essen started the second half, but did not make much progress, and Lindisfarne out-bashed them. The Exsanguinators fell back, then tried reversing to the other side of the field, but were cut off again. They broke one vamp through with the ball, but he was taken out, and Lindisfarne claimed the ball with most of the Exsanguinators off the field. The end of the game was creeping up, though, and a failed Midnight Son GFI guaranteed that Lindisfarne would not be able to break the tie.

Surrey Serpents 3 - B.Aires Tangueros 1

Blitz put Serpents into B.Aires turf immediately. The Tangueros managed to grab the ball first, but were hemmed in on all sides, and Serpents blitzed the ball free and stole it. B.Aires managed one return blitz, but could not find a Pow, and Surrey went up 1-0. B.Aires held the ball back for a couple turns on their next possession, but the eventual pass forward was dropped. Surrey grabbed the ball and headed downfield. The B.Aires mino broke free for the surf attempt, but failed the last GFI, and Surrey made the handoff to score for 2-0. The second half gave B.Aires a Blitz, but the long kick didn't give them a chance to steal. Surrey sped around one side of the B.Aires formation, blitzing a path to score again. B.Aires tried a farming pass to get one more SPP for a skill on their dark elf, but that was dropped, as was the forward pass the next turn. Surrey failed a dodge and then a pickup, though, and the Tangueros rat collected the ball and blitzed free to score.

AWC East vs. NWC West

Green Back Smackers 3 - North West Walking Brawls 1

Perfect Defence let North West pressure Green Back early, but the Smackers rose to the challenge, keeping the Walking Brawls occupied while their ball-carrier ran around one side. North West blitzed the ball-carrier twice, but only for 1ds, and could not take him down before he scored. North West started their offence, but Green Back's return hits permed two Walking Brawls - an Emerging Star zombie and a Veteran mummy - for -MA each. Green Back also marked North West's ball-carrier with a Blodge/Side Step blitzer. North West was unsuccessful at knocking him down, and their ball-carrier failed the dodge away, letting Green Back steal the ball for a second score. The Walking Brawls were able to run a ghoul around with the ball during the second half, but were losing the bash battle, and had to score on turn 4. Green Back smashed into the Walking Brawls again, knocking them down and moving the ball around, but lost a black orc to a niggle in the process. The Smackers went up 3-1 to end the game. Green Back had some interesting skill rolls after the game, with a rookie blitzer skilling for +ST, while the newly-niggled black orc rolled +AV, making the niggle somewhat less relevant.

Week 2
AWC North vs. NWC South

New York Rats 2 - Los Angeles Reapers 2

Los Angeles moved the ball up after an initial flub. New York sent a Strip Ball Rat to try a -2d blitz on the ball, but he found Skull and then Both Down waiting for him. The ball-carrier moved to the goal-line, where another -2d blitz pushed him in, giving New York four turns left to try to score themselves. They only needed two, swarming the backfield, then scoring after a snaked GFI left the Reapers out of position to interfere. LA tried for a two-turn TD of their own, but couldn't get better than 4+ pass 5+ catch and failed those through reroll. Pitch Invasion started the second half by stunning four Rats and two Reapers. New York sent a gutter runner in deep with the ball. He was taken down, but Los Angeles failed the pickup. New York moved the ball further forward on their next turn. The Reapers took down the Rat nearest the ball, but again failed the pickup, and a Rat was able to grab the ball and dodge away to score. Los Angeles went for a full cage on their next drive, taking small steps forward. New York was able to open it up for a -2d Strip Ball blitz, but this again failed. Their next blitz didn't make it into the cage, and the Reapers stalled on the edge of the goal. A last blitz from New York got up to 1d, but did not find a Pow, and the LA ball-carrier blitzed for the tie game.

ROT-NUCKS WIN

Despite some suspect decisions from the coach, the public shaming seems to have worked as the Rot-Nucks managed to find their first win in 6 games over the Joplin Disasters.

Clearly still peeved with how the rats ran circles around them last week, the Rot-Nucks focused on the most agile of their opponents players and permanently removed the heads from two of them.

Should have been a bigger win given the death being laid about but solid play from the Joplin's coach meant we just barely managed to (finally) eke out the win.

Yes, the Disasters seem to be going with their name as a theme this season. After losing their +S mino at the end of last season, they have so far this season lost:
1 replacement Mino
2 Dark Elves
1 Goblin
2 very skilled +A marauders
2 other marauder and
1 loner

Monday morning recaps! I hope you all had fun with the 2 Million Match celebration, and that it wasn't too disruptive.

Week 2
AWC North vs. NWC South

Vancouver Rot-Nucks 1 - Joplin Disasters 0

Joplin's big guys failed to hold the line, with their troll being KO'd and the ogre needing the apo to stay in the game. The Disasters fought back, though, KOing a warrior and surfing a pestigor over the next couple turns. Vancouver tried running the ball though, but were cut off. The ball changed hands a couple times, and a Disaster punted it back towards the Rot-Nuck end zone. Vancouver fell back. Joplin chased the ball, but one of their marauders - +AG Super Star Ralph Maloy - failed a dodge and then a GFI, killing himself in the fall, and Vancouver's next turn saw another +AG Disaster also die, this time at the hands of a Rot-Nuck. Vancouver got the ball briefly before a Disaster sprang it on a 1d, but he failed a GFI while trying to run. Vancouver recalled all of their pestigors, giving up on a chance to score in the first half to work on defence. Joplin got their KOs back, but still started the second half down some very capable bodies. Fail came Joplin's way on turn 2, with a Skulled journeyman block for a KO. Vancouver pressed in. Disturbing Presence sent an attempted handoff to the turf, and Vancouver continued bashing, but a Skulled block from their beast removed him from the field. Joplin got the ball back, but Vancouver vetoed that, with the ball bouncing to a Rot-Nuck. Bone-Head stopped Joplin's next blitz, and Vancouver got the ball clear for a turn 8 score.

AWC West vs. NWC East

Kansas Raptors 3 - Lindisfarne Midnight Sons 0

Kansas's krox failed a 3d block on turn 1, but made Loner to try again. The fail continued with a saurus BHing himself on another failed block, though, and Midnight Sons charged the backfield. Kansas made rolls to chainsaw a Son down, grab the ball, and pass it to hired star Hemlock. Lindisfarne blitzed him, but Side Step and Block skills kept him upright and out of the crowd, and the ulf trying it was surfed the next turn for a BH. Kansas moved Hemlock up and screened him, taking the first TD of the game a turn later. Lindisfarne started their drive, but return hits from Kansas opened a hole in their lines and three Raptors surrounded the ball-carrier. A Wild Animal fail cost Lindisfarne their blitz, and the ball-carrier tripped while trying to get away, letting Kansas steal the ball for 2-0 at the half. The Midnight Sons started up their second-half drive, but their ball-carrier went a step too far while changing sides, and was locked up by the Kansas kroxigor, who promptly CAS'd him. Lindisfarne got the ball back, but that Son was chainsawed for a KO. Norse armour was telling by this time, with only three Midnight Sons left on the field, and a failed pickup cost Lindisfarne their last chance to deny the Raptors a third score. Kansas celebrated by rolling doubles for their krox, giving him Block.

Alethkar Shard Warriors 1 - B.Aires Tangueros 0

Alethkar moved the ball in as the teams collided. Neither side could gain an obvious advantage for a bit, but B.Aires' fortunes began to fade when their dark elf CAS'd himself on a failed dodge. They did manage an ogre blitz on the ball thanks to Break Tackle, but he didn't find a Pow and failed Loner for the reroll. Alethkar got the ball around the side and into scoring range. B.Aires bolted it free, but used their reroll clearing a path to the ball, and the 5+ pass didn't even find the 3+ needed to not fumble. The Shard Warriors reclaimed the ball, and a failed 2d blitz from a Tanguero got Alethkar free to score. The Shard Warriors swarmed the line on Perfect Defence in the second half, with both sides taking damage. B.Aires' third turn saw their minotaur fail a Break Tackle dodge through Loner that had good odds to surf a stat-freak werewolf. Instead the wolf broke through to down the ball-carrier and steal it for himself. Alethkar stalled while B.Aires tried to get players in the area, but they stalled one turn too long, and B.Aires made two dodges for a 1d Pow to take the ball back. B.Aires failed a blitz on turn 8 to lose their last chance at scoring, while a failed GFI from Alethkar kept them from taking advantage.

AWC East vs. NWC West

R'lyeh Regulars 2 - Stone City SkullCrushers 1

R'lyeh claimed the ball and started punching. Stone City brawled back, managing a 1d blitz on the ball on turn 3, but that was Skulled and the blitzer doing it needed medical attention to avoid permanent damage. R'lyeh continued brawling, removing more SkullCrushers from the game before taking a turn 6 score. Pitch Invasion complicated Stone City's drive, knocking down half of the remaining SkullCrushers and three Regulars. A Skulled blitz from R'lyeh gave Stone City a pass to a free SkullCrusher, but the pass was inaccurate and the crowd tossed the ball to midfield. The Regulars tried pass/handoff to score, but dropped the last of those; Stone City likewise failed their final try of the half. Stone City's first turn of the second half ended on a Sure Hands fail, and their second when they failed a dodge and then a 1d block. The Regulars CAS'd two players during their turns, then stole the ball for 2-0. Stone City was down to six players, which became five after a failed dodge. The SkullCrushers were swarmed by Regulars, but their ball-carrier hit the no-reroll 6 to pass out of three tackle zones and the ball went clear for a score. Riot ended the game before any more scoring could happen.

Green Back Smackers 2 - Argentinian Caudillos 2

The Caudillo kick went to the back corner, and several Smackers fell back to retrieve it while others brawled. Green Back was able to get the ball and move it forward, but failed a block to niggle a rookie black orc. Argentina arranged a 2d on the ball, but could not find a Pow or a Both Down. The Smackers cleared room to advance, but failed a pass. A Caudillo snatched up the ball, but snaked a dodge to KO himself, and Green Back got the ball clear and scored. Argentina ran in quickly down one sideline, then reversed to the other one, making GFIs to stay out of reach of the Smackers and even the score. The Caudillos started the second half by sending their catchers forward, using Nerves of Steel the next turn to get one clear with the ball, scoring on turn 3. Both of their KOs stayed out, though, and Green Back charged straight in. Argentina got a 1d on the ball, but could not pop it, and lost a blitzer to return hits. Another 1d the next turn found a Pow, though, a Caudillo collected the ball briefly. He was Wrestled down, and despite AG5 Argentina was unable to collect the ball on the next turn. Green Back grabbed the ball, moving it out of reach, and evened the score on turn 7. All three of Argentina's KOs stayed out, and Green Back did not give Argentina a shot at a 5 player OTT.

North West Walking Brawls 2 - Shadowland Golds 0

North West caged and moved in, with Shadowland screening in front of them. A 1d hit on a mummy allowed Shadowland to blitz the ball free after a reroll, but the ensuing pickup was dropped, and North West got it back and reestablished their cage. With the half running down, a Gold dodged into the cage to make a 1d hit, but he could only find Pushes. Needing to hurry, North West's cage again was set up in contact with Golds, and Shadowland opened it up for a 2d blitz. That found Skull/Push reroll Skull/Skull, though, and the Walking Brawls easily scraped the markers off for 1-0. It was North West's turn to screen in the second half, and they inflicted damage on the Golds, but Shadowland was able to get the ball through. A 1d blitz from a Wrestle ghoul knocked it free, though, and Shadowland's next pickup was dropped. North West collected it and passed it forward, and Shadowland's blitz failed a GFI. Shadowland had been steadily losing players, dropping down to one Gold left on the field while North West made it 2-0.

The Essen Exsanguinators will be taking on the Necropolis Priest Kings tonight. Come one, come all to see the only two Legends in the NWFL go head-to-head! Rumour is that Reggie Wight will be in the crowd, to speak with the commissioner about the festivities for his own (hopefully) impending Legendhood.

Essen holds a 2-0-1 lifetime lead on Necropolis, with all three games happening during Season VII. Both teams have changed quite a bit since then, and it will be interesting to see what the outcome is. Kick-off is at 7 pm Eastern - see you there!

All matches played on time! I love you guys. Some new teams making their presence known - Kansas has gone 2-0 to start their first season with the NWFL, and Los Angeles, Colorado, and New York are also on top of their divisions right now. Definitely teams to watch out for.

Week 2
AWC South vs. NWC North

Colorado Chipmunks 2 - Argentine Noldorins 1

Argentina's FAME advantage paid off instantly with a Pitch Invasion that stunned a whopping six Chipmunks, but no Noldorins. The kick had gone long, though, and Colorado still got to it before Argentina. The Noldorins tried blitzing Colorado's induced chainsaw before the ball-carrier, content to leave the ball hemmed in. Neither objective came home, though, with Nobbla Blackwart KOing a Noldorin and BHing another, and the ball-carrier using Two Heads to sneak loose. A Noldorin finally chased the ball-carrier down and stole the ball, but failed a GFI to stun himself. Colorado got the ball back and survived another blitz, but failed a GFI while trying to get clear on turn 7. Argentina grabbed the ball, but fumbled the pass, and a Chipmunk was able to grab the ball out of a tackle zone, dodge clear, and GFI to score. Argentina elfed their way to a two-turn touchdown in the second half. Colorado moved the ball up to the line, but didn't screen behind them, and speedy Noldorins sprang the ball free, grabbed it, and passed it away. Colorado's troll was smart enough to blitz it back free, and Chipmunks swarmed the area. Argentina knocked a couple away from the ball, but stil couldn't make the pickup, and Colorado reclaimed the ball, stalling and screening. Failed dodges from Argentina took away their chances to stop the go-ahead goal.

Nehekhara Guardians 1 - Detroit Delvers 0

Detroit CAS'd two Guardians on the first turn, but snaked a pass, and Nehekhara smashed a path to the ball and surrounded it. Detroit's second turn ended when they used a reroll to get Dauntless online, but then Skulled the block, and a Guardian grabbed the ball and took off, stalling at the end zone. Detroit managed to dodge a blitzer free, though, and two GFIs later Nehekhara's ball-carrier was taken down, with the ball being crowded back towards Guardian territory. Detroit was able to keep Nehekhara from reclaiming it, but not move it downfield, and the half ended 0-0. The teams brawled in the second half as Nehekhara ran the ball up. They used their fireball at the end of the third turn, knocking down all four targeted Delvers for one CAS. Detroit did not find good luck, snaking a GFI and then failing a -2d block. A final failed dodge from Detroit prompted Nehekhara to score on turn 7, and Detroit's dice did not improve at the end.

Butte Kickers 1 - Copper Island Chargers 0

Butte's first turn ended with the ball still on the ground, but they managed to collect it the next turn, and moved it up into a cage. Copper Island's wizard took care of that, downing two Kickers and killing a third. Copper Island grabbed the ball, but could not protect it, with a Kicker taking the ball-carrier down on a 2d and their AG4/Big Hand beastman taking it back. He was downed in turn, but a failed dodge and then failed 1d from Copper Island let Butte get clear. They ended up trying a turn 8 handoff, though, and 2 reroll 2 sent the game to the half with no score. Copper Island started their drive in the second half, but were down bodies, and did not find much love from the dice. Butte contained and mopped up the Chargers, making a handoff this time and scoring on turn 6. Riot ended the game early.

Har Ganeth Korsairs 2 - Nocturne Falls Honey Badgers 1

The Korsairs punched in while their blitzers traded the ball back and forth. They got to scoring distance with most of the team still on the field, although long-suffering lineman Batarjal "Clearhammer" Vulgaris picked up his third perm. Repeated passes and handoffs allowed Har Ganeth to stall until turn 8 before scoring. Bad KO rolls for Nocturne Falls and good ones for Har Ganeth saw the Honey Badgers outnumbered at the start of the second half, and Pitch Invasion complicated matters further. Nocturne Falls' top ghoul Emmitt Stiff managed to blitz himself a way through, though. Har Ganeth moved Star Eblis Passiflora Caerulea* to mark Emmitt, but he snaked a GFI to kill himself through apo. Emmitt dodged away to score on turn 4. The weather changed to Pouring Rain for Har Ganeth's return drive, and again KO rolls were abysmal, with Nocturne Falls getting back only one of four. Har Ganeth failed their first pickup roll, but Emmitt Stiff snaked a GFI of his own while blitzing. The Korsairs surrounded him for a foul, landing only a stun, but the next pickup again failed, and the ball was crowded right to a clump of Honey Badgers. A wight grabbed it, but with time running down ran away from the others to try and get to scoring range. He was taken down by a Korsair, and despite Har Ganeth's turn ending prematurely due to an ejection, their next turn saw them take possession of the ball and pass it forward. A mummy made a 6+ dodge to blitz the ball-carrier, but could not find a Pow, and the Korsair dodged away to take the game.

AWC North vs. NWC South

Cleveland Children 0 - Buenos Aires Titans 0

Cleveland CAS'd two journeymen and KO'd a third before Buenos Aires could act. The Titans returned fire, with Mighty Blow wardancer Martín Karadagián CASing a goblin and then hired star Skitter Stab-Stab. The Children moved in, but multiple dodges and GFIs got Buenos Aires to the ball-carrier. The ball changed hands a couple times, but a turn came when Cleveland could not Pow the Buenos Aires ball-carrier, and he took off downfield. Cleveland caught up with him to deny Buenos Aires the defensive score, but were out of time to score themselves. Bad KO rolls saw only five Titans take the field for the second half, compared to nine Children. Buenos Aires moved the ball up one side, then reversed to the other, but snaked a GFI with the ball. Cleveland grabbed it, but wardancers again came to the rescue, and a Titan ran the ball forward. Buenos Aires got into scoring range twice, but each time Cleveland took the ball-carrier down and stole it themselves, forcing more heroics. Cleveland managed to keep possession through Buenos Aires' turn 8, but could not land the 5+ pass to score themselves.

White Rock Midnight 1 - St. Luna Cardiac Cardinals 1

The teams brawled in the centre for a while before White Rock snuck the ball along a sideline and past, scoring when threatened by a werewolf. Blitz gave them the ball right back. St. Luna reclaimed it and took off with a wolf, but he was hauled down. Both sides failed pickups, and St. Luna's last chance to score before the half was foiled by a GFI. The Midnight went 0-for-4 on KOs at the half, and could only peck away at St. Luna's fringes as the Cardiac Cardinals stalled for a turn 8 score.

AWC West vs. NWC East

Surrey Serpents 2 - Slann Frogcisco 49ers 0

Pitch Invasion took down a lot of Serpents, including two on the line. Slann Frogcisco hit the last one and fouled, but that only resulted in an ejection. The 49ers next turn drew the Surrey apo to save a fatally wounded saurus, but Slann Frogcisco still couldn't pick up. The Slann Frogcisco apo went soon after to keep a KO'd catcher on the field. Another failed pickup let Serpents near the ball, and a failed leap permed a rookie 49er blitzer. Surrey was able to grab the ball for a defensive touchdown. Slann Frogcisco finally picked the ball up on their next drive, while Surrey rerolled a 3d blitz into Skull/Skull/Skull. A failed handoff left the 49ers unable to capitalize, though, and another failed pickup the next turn left an Emerging Star catcher next to a Serpent who took him down for RIP. Neither side could score before the half ended. Surrey started the second half, moving the ball up. An initial leap blitz from Slann Frogcisco was not successful, but the ball-carrier was Wrestled down the next turn, and a 49er made off with the ball. Slann Frogcisco took yet another painful injury from the return hits, though, with a Veteran blitzer niggled. Surrey marked the ball-carrier with a Side Step/Diving Tackle skink, but their blitzer failed a GFI to miss the hit. Slann Frogcisco tried a blitz to knock the marker down, but found only a Push, and the reroll did not find a Pow either. With the reroll spent, Slann Frogcisco could not reroll the leap away from a 1, and Surrey claimed the ball and ran. Their ball-carrier survived two blitzes, getting to the end zone on turn 7. Slann Frogcisco could not find the dice to score in two turns.

Essen Exsanguinators 3 - Necropolis Priest Kings 1

A Rock KO'd a thrall on the opening kickoff. Essen passed the ball over the heads of the Priest Kings to a waiting vamp, leading with a three-turn TD. Necropolis responded with beatings, KOing more thralls and moving the ball up. Essen got an easy shot at the ball-carrier with their +ST vamp, though, knocking it free. Necropolis tried to regroup, but the Exsanguinator vamps resisted Blood Lust to remove the nearby markers, steal the ball, and head downfield for 2-0. Bad KO rolls left Essen short-handed, and Necropolis removed all three thralls on the line to start the second half. The remaining Exsanguinators harried the Priest Kings, and managed to spring the ball when the ball-carrier outran his screen, but Necropolis reclaimed it for 2-1. Essen had seven players for the last four turns of the half. A failed pickup let Priest Kings near the ball. AG5 let an Exsanguinator grab it anyway, but the pass forward was intercepted by a tomb guardian. He was surrounded by Exsanguinators, though, and could not get free to send the ball back towards Essen's end zone. Essen took him down to reclaim the ball, and scored after the Priest King trying the desperation -2d blitz succeeded only in breaking his own skull - thankfully regenerated.

AWC East vs. NWC West

Winchester Wicked Wrongdoers 2 - Hollywood Roundup Gang 1

Hollywood largely ignored Winchester's line, using a long pass and star Jordell Freshbreeze to take a two-turn TD. Winchester laid some beats, but failed a pickup, and Jordell ran in to steal the ball. He was blitzed down with a KO, but Winchester's turn ended on a snaked GFI before trying another pickup. Hollywood sent a wardancer in to grab the ball, but he snaked a dodge on the way out to KO himself. A Wicked Wrongdoer finally made the pickup, moving the ball forward. The Roundup Gang sent a fireball after the ball-carrier and two others nearby, but only got one of the guards. A 1d blitz found a Pow to spring the ball, and Winchester's turn 7 pickup failed. The ball bounced into multiple Wrongdoer TZs, though, and a bull centaur finally made the pickup after a reroll to score on turn 8. The second half continued where the first left off, with beatings and a failed pickup. This time Jordell Freshbreeze also failed the pickup, though, and Winchester secured the ball, removing several Roundup Gangers in the process. Hollywood tried to get in the way, but gave up free blocks in the process, and by their fourth turn had been reduced to two Gangers left on the field, both surrounded. Winchester took an easy 2-1 lead on turn 8, which held up.

Week 3
AWC North vs. NWC South

New York Rats 3 - Cleveland Children 2

New York sent Rats in deep and fired the ball over to one of them. Cleveland ignored him to blitz a different gutter runner for a 3d KO, giving New York an easy two-turn TD. Cleveland laid hits on the line, but multiple Rats snuck past them to swarm the backfield. A failed pass from Cleveland let New York steal for 2-0. Cleveland restarted, but once again found their ball-carrier cut off, surrounded by five Rats. This time the Children blitzed a corner off the surrounding cage, and the ball-carrier dodged out successfully. Failed dodges trapped multiple Rats in Cleveland territory, and a Child ran the ball in for 2-1. The second half continued the trend - Rats down, more Rats charging the ball-carrier. This time a failed dodge and then GFI cost Cleveland the ball, and New York went up 3-1. New York kept going with what works, again swarming the ball-carrier, this time after he made it to the line. A 1d Pow knocked the ball free, and New York grabbed the ball, punting it forward. Cleveland reclaimed it, but New York was again ready with a 1d, stealing the ball and running it in. The ball-carrier failed the last GFI, though, and the ball was returned to Cleveland by the fans. The Children ran it forward, surviving another 1d blitz and making GFIs to score.

Buenos Aires Titans 1 - Los Angeles Reapers 1

A Blizzard would slow the game down some. Los Angeles got the ball first, moving in slowly. A Titan tried a GFI despite the weather, KOing himself as a booby prize. LA's hook was cut off, and they regrouped, concentrating on damage instead of progress for a couple turns. With their ranks dwindling, Buenos Aires arranged a 1d blitz on the ball-carrier, but Pushback was rerolling to Skull, and the Reapers scored on turn 8. Buenos Aires made good use of their own turn 8, as did their fans, with a wardancer and a Rock each removing a Reaper for the second half. Los Angeles set up their bull centaurs on the line, but the Titans punished them for that, KOing one with a hit and the other with a foul. More damage from both sides ensued before Buenos Aires took a turn 4 TD. Buenos Aires went 0-for-3 on KOs, but Los Angeles was only slightly better at 1-for-3, with both bulls staying out. LA ran the ball with their +ST hobgoblin while hitting, with Buenos Aires dodging and screening in front of them. The Reapers were forced to move on turn 7, and Buenos Aires arranged for a 1d on the ball-carrier, downing him and taking the ball for themselves. LA was not able to get it back before time expired.

White Rock Midnight 2 - Joplin Disasters 0

Joplin was coming off a rough loss that saw three skilled marauders leave the team, and opted to save their money to rebuy players all at once. This gave them a team that was nearly half journeymen for the match against White Rock. The Midnight CAS'd one of those loners and KO'd another on the first turn of the game, and removed the Joplin troll from the field on their second turn, drawing an apo to ensure that there would be no permanent damage. White Rock was still cautious of moving in too fast, with Joplin holding a wizard as well as star Lewdgrip Whiparm, but they worked around one side, getting a secure enough position to farm passes, and eventually scoring on turn 8. Joplin made a nice attempt at a OTT, but had to reroll Skull/Pow at one point, and so could not manage a failed GFI. A stupid troll and a failed pass to start the second let the Midnight rush the backfield. A failed handoff the next turn left the ball in contact with a standing Midnight, and White Rock took the ball-carrier down and stole it for themselves. Joplin's wizard only hit one of four targets, but at least Badly Hurt him. Joplin rushed the ball-carrier for -MA, apo'd to RIP, which coach licker accepted. The ball bounced around for a while with neither team able to secure it, but grabbing balls is one thing AG6 is really good at, and White Rock's Jenif McDowell got it out of the scrum. A failed pass gave the Disasters another chance to mark the ball, but Jenif again grabbed it, making a Tentacles escape and scoring to give her enough SPP for Super Star. Joplin's final TD chance was removed by Diving Tackle. As of the print deadline, there has been no word on Jenif's fifth skill.

AWC East vs. NWC West

R'lyeh Regulars 2 - Shadowland Golds 1

Shadowland elfed in for a three-turn touchdown. R'lyeh started their own drive, but a 1d Strip Ball blitz forced them to spend time regrouping. Shadowland's blitz the next turn bounced the ball, but it was caught by R'lyeh's AG4 warrrior Fhtagn. He moved the ball up to midfield before being dragged to a halt, and a Gold took him down to spring the ball again, marking the ball on Shadowland's turn 8. R'lyeh knocked the markers off the ball, making pickup, pass, catch, and GFIs to score just before halftime. The Regulars started a new drive. Shadowland harried them, knocking the ball free several times, but R'lyeh was always able to recover before a Gold could try the pickup. On turn 7 R'lyeh finally got the ball back, with only two players able to make it to scoring position, one of whom was promptly blitzed down. With no rerolls, R'lyeh made pass/catch/dodge/dodge/GFI/GFI to score. Shadowland set up to try a OTT, but with no rerolls of their own, were stymied by Pows.

Argentinian Caudillos 2 - Winchester Wicked Wrongdoers 2

Argentina managed a two-turn TD, trading a CAS each with Winchester. Winchester pushed back. Argentina delayed them by marking the ball-carrier with a Blodge/Side Step/Diving Tackle Caudillo, forcing the Wicked Wrongdoers to spend time hunting for a Pow. Winchester made only slow progress forward, damaging a couple Caudillos, and finally got to scoring position on turn 7. A 1d Wrestle blitz knocked the ball free, and Winchester failed the turn 8 pickup. Both Argentinian blitzers failed their KO rolls at the half, though. Winchester took out more Caudillos to start the second half, killing a Wrestle/Kick elf, but an Emerging Star hobgoblin was maimed for -MA even after apo. Winchester used Stand Firm to keep their ball-carrier safe on the sidelines, scoring on turn 5. Argentina went straight in, giving the ball to a blitzer on the sidelines. He was taken down by a blitzing bull centaur, but the bull snaked a GFI while trying for the ball, bouncing it right to a nearby elf to let Argentina take a 2-1 lead. The Wicked Wrongdoers had two turns to try and even the game. A bull centaur, Dr Black, ran into scoring range, and hits took a couple Caudillos off the field, but the pickup was failed. Argentina marked Dr Black and then blitzed him, but found only a Push, and the reroll came up Skull/Skull. Winchester scraped the marker off, then made rolls to pick up, hand off, and GFI for the tie. Argentina used their last turn to foul an Emerging Star blocker for -MA.

Jenifs 5th skill is a regular roll, but the debate is raging about if she needs leap or block more.

A Legend gets hurt in weekend action. Here are your Monday morning recaps.

Week 3
AWC North vs. NWC South

St. Luna Cardiac Cardinals 2 - Vancouver Rot-Nucks 0

The teams brawled, with St. Luna moving the ball up and around. A failed GFI from a Rot-Nuck warrior sent him out of the game Badly Hurt, and the Cardiac Cardinals surfed another nearby Rot-Nuck. Vancouver called in their wizard and stole the ball, but their ball-carrier was swarmed and St. Luna reclaimed the ball for an eventual TD. Vancouver smashed back in the second half, evening out the players on the field. A werewolf was able to stretch for a 1d blitz and spring the ball, but not grab it himself. He was taken down in exchange, but the ball bounced out of bounds and back to the line of scrimmage. Vancouver marked it but did not pickup up themselves, and St. Luna blitzed the marker away and stole the ball. A blitzing Rot-Nuck again failed a GFI to CAS himself, and St. Luna dodged free for 2-0.

AWC West vs. NWC East

Essen Exsanguinators 2 - Slann Frogcisco 49ers 1

Slann Frogcisco's induced chainsaw made a GFI to blitz a ST5 vampire for BH, apo'd to keep him in the game. A failed pickup let Essen steal the ball, but their ball-carrier was wrestled down. The ball changed hands several times, with Essen losing players with each exchange. The chainsaw claimed another victim, niggling Legend Stefan "Eyes of Gold" Feld, and a failed Exsanguinator dodge let Slann Frogcisco get the ball forward to safety. The Exsanguinators caused some damage in the rest of the half, though, and between the turn 8 and halftime KO rolls, got all five KOs back, while both 49er KOs stayed down. Essen rushed the ball forward. Slann Frogcisco's kroxigor used Break Tackle to manage a 4+ dodge to blitz the ball-carrier on their turn 1, but could not find a Pow. He tried again on their second turn, but failed a GFI to Badly Hurt himself, and Essen evened the game. The 49er KOs finally came back, including Helmut Wulf, but they were still down bodies. A speedy catcher almost made it to the end zone, but he was taken down and the ball stolen. Essen ran the ball back up. An attempted blitz cost the 49ers a dead Wrestle lino, and the Exsanguinators ran the ball in for 2-1. Vampire Uwe "The Reaper" Rosenberg earned 7 SPP in the win, putting him up to a lifetime total of 172, within striking distance of Legend.

B.Aires Tangueros 2 - Kansas Raptors 1

Both sides suffered losses early. B.Aires moved the ball up, but could not protect it, and Kansas blitzed it free. The mercenary sent after the ball failed the pickup and Loner, though, and the ball bounced away. Neither side could claim it for a few turns, but a Skulled block from the Raptor kroxigor and another failed Loner roll let the Tanguero dark elf grab the ball. He was cut off, but reversed the other way, throwing to a waiting teammate. The catch was dropped, but the ball luckily bounced to a neighbouring Tanguero, who snagged the ball and took off himself. A skink made GFIs for a -2d blitz and actually found Pow/Pow, but the ball bounced away from him. B.Aires was able to make dodge/GFI to get a Tanguero into the end zone, and then dodge/GFI/Animosity/failed intercept/pass/catch to score, using their last reroll on the catch. A Riot gave Kansas two turns to score, and with a touchback they entrusted the ball to a saurus. The Tangueros sent all their players in front of him, though, and an attempted handoff to a skink to try Stunty dodges was dropped. B.Aires got a Blitz to start the second, but once the Tangueros were in deep, Kansas relayed the ball forward, breaking free for a turn 4 touchdown. B.Aires fought their way through on the return drive, with their ball-carrier repeatedly marked by the Kansas krox, but a chainpush and then a straight takedown on turn 8 allowed B.Aires to take the game.

Week 4
AWC North vs. NWC South

Buenos Aires Titans 3 - Joplin Disasters 0

Pouring Rain would complicate the first half, although Buenos Aires' initial pickup attempt was snakes anyway. Their first action of their second turn ended in snakes as well, and Joplin grabbed the ball. A 1d blitz from Buenos Aires freed it, but Buenos Aires failed more pickup attempts. They kept at it, though, and the ball finally bounced to where they could grab it. A failed GFI from Joplin allowed the score. The weather cleared up for Joplin's drive, but a failed dodge ended the half before any Disasters could get to scoring distance. Joplin moved the ball up in the second half, but Titans made repeated GFIs to blitz it free and steal it. Joplin kept finding Pows to knock down the Titan with the ball, but couldn't get it back. A bounce was finally caught by a Titan who had not acted yet, and he dodged free to score. Failed blocks complicated Joplin's next drive, and Buenos Aires again knocked down the ball-carrier and stole the ball. A Disaster made things interesting with turn 8 dodge/dodge/GFI/GFI/blitz, finding Both Down to take down the ball-carrier as well as himself, but Buenos Aires made the last pickup for 3-0. One of the Buenos Aires touchdowns was scored by a loner, and it remains to be seen if they will hire him, or save up money for a large purchase later on.

AWC East vs. NWC West

Argentinian Caudillos 2 - R'lyeh Regulars 1

R'lyeh moved the ball up, but were immediately swarmed. Argentina blitzed the ball free on their second turn, and the Regulars could not match that, finding only Pushes with their blitz. A chainpush got the Caudillo ball-carrier free of Tentacles, and they used AG5 handoffs to run the ball in and score. R'lyeh punched through the center of the Argentina line on their next drive, but bogged down, and the only player in scoring position was taken down, ending the half with Argentina in the lead. A right hook by Argentina was cut off, but they just fell back for a turn before getting the ball to a catcher for a turn 3 score. A snaked dodge from a Caudillo let R'lyeh get most of the way to the end zone, but their ball-carrier outran his screen, and Argentina took him down just shy of the goal line. R'lyeh couldn't get the ball themselves, and Argentina stole it, but failed a GFI to dump the ball free near the line of scrimmage. R'lyeh tried to reclaim it themselves on turn 7, but the pickup failed, and the ball bounced to their minotaur. The -2d blitz from Argentina came up Pow/Push and Pushback, and after some thought R'lyeh chose Pow/Push to get the ball away from the Wild Animal. The ball landed in two Regular tackle zones, and Argentina failed the pickup. R'lyeh was able to move the nearby Caudillos away from the ball, then pick up and pass to make the final score 2-1.

burgun824 gets a Legend, and the site collapses for two days. Coincidence?

Here, in any case, are the recaps for Monday and Tuesday. Hopefully they will be joined by others soon!

Week 3
AWC South vs. NWC North

Butte Kickers 2 - Nocturne Falls Honey Badgers 0

Butte received the ball and caged at the line. Nocturne Falls got the first CAS of the game, blitzing a mummy beside the ball, but a return hit killed a two-skill wight through Regeneration. A Skulled block and then a failed dodge let the Honey Badgers free the ball, but the pickup was snaked. Nocturne Falls also snaked a GFI on the next turn, and Butte reclaimed the ball, dodging free for a turn 6 score. Nocturne Falls tried moving the ball up, but another failed GFI left them out of position to score in the first half. Reggie Wight led off the second half by perming the beastman who had scored, putting his lifetime SPP total to 176 to reach Legend. The Honey Badgers clumped up around the ball, and Butte obligingly pulled the trigger on their wizard, hitting 4 of 7 for a KO. They could only manage a 1d on the ball-carrier, though, and Nocturne Falls retained possession. The Honey Badger advance was cut off, and when the ball-carrier tried to blitz himself a path, Both Downs were rerolled into Skulls, and Butte swooped in to grab the ball. A Honey Badger Wrestled it free, but Kickers easily reclaimed it, and a failed Honey Badger dodge guaranteed 2-0. Reggie has chosen Frenzy for his Legend skill, continuing down the path of beatings that led him to the top.

AWC West vs. NWC East

Surrey Serpents 1 - Necropolis Priest Kings 1

Very Sunny was not expected to affect a match between lizardmen and khemri. Surrey ran in with a right hook, scoring on turn 3 instead of trying to stall, but not getting any love from their KOs. Necropolis's first turn on offence was also unlucky, with Both Down/Skull and Skull/Skull cutting it short. The ball bounced around a bit. Surrey failed a 4+ pickup through reroll, and return hits from Necropolis niggled Super Star saurus Cobra Commander through apo, clearing the way for a thro-ra to collect the ball. He was quickly surrounded, though, and failed a dodge away. Surrey grabbed the ball and ran, but failed a dodge of their own on turn 8 to miss the touchdown. Surrey suffered a steady stream of losses in the second half, and slowed but could not stop the Priest Kings. Necropolis declined the turn 5 score, though, stalling and transferring the ball to their rookie thro-ra to skill him with a turn 8 TD. A Riot gave Surrey two turns, but excessive casualties meant only four Serpents were actually on the field, and a failed Bone-Head roll denied them any chance to score. Necropolis rolled +AG for their thro-ra, giving hope that he might be a worthy replacement for the departed Askor.

AWC East vs. NWC West

North West Walking Brawls 2 - Stone City SkullCrushers 0

Stone City's first hit was Skulled, and was not rerolled. Walking Brawls swarmed the line. Stone City got more done on their second turn, but failed a 1d block before marking the ball or making a pickup attempt. They tried a fireball on three of North West's AG3 players, but missed all three. North West stole the ball, but could not keep it safe. SkullCrushers retook it, but found themselves hemmed in a corner. A handoff got it free, and Stone City tried a pass around the side, but the receiver could not complete the catch. Walking Brawls kept the SkullCrushers from trying another pickup, and while North West had some problems handling the ball themselves, they eventually got it forward to take the lead. Bad KO rolls at the half saw three SkullCrushers stay out, despite two Babes. North West worked their strength advantage, moving the ball forward, but a failed 4+ farming pass bounced the ball away from all of the Brawls. Stone City's thrower dodged away to grab it and pass forward, but the catch was again flubbed. North West managed a 4+ pickup to reclaim the ball. A dropped handoff on the next turn again gave the SkullCrushers a chance at the ball, but the heroic dice needed were not present, and North West scored for 2-0.

AWC North vs. NWC South

White Rock Midnight 2 - Los Angeles Reapers 0

White Rock hooked four Midnight in with the ball on turn 1. Los Angeles sent a fireball at them, but completely missed. White Rock's AG5 Leap blitzer went in to score, but snaked the Leap instead. The Reapers surfed a rookie Midnight and grabbed the ball with a bull centaur. White Rock surrounded him, and Los Angeles could not get him clear of Side Stepping Blodgers. He was finally taken down, but the pickup was missed, and the ball was crowded back to midfield. A blocker was able to grab it, but failed a GFI while trying to get out of range of a counterstrike. White Rock also failed a GFI trying to grab the ball, but LA had used up their AG2 ball-handling. White Rock got another shot, this time with AG6 lino Jenif McDowell, and she passed the ball back up to where it had been on turn 1. Los Angeles failed a dodge to hit the ball, and White Rock got the 1-0 lead just in time. The Midnight got a Blitz to start the second half, and again threatened the ball, getting a 1d to CAS the ball-carrier and steal the ball a couple turns later. A Midnight dawdled on the goal line with the ball, and Los Angeles reverted to fouling, MNGing a +ST lino to go with a rookie lino and a journeyman from earlier. White Rock decided to score. The CAS dice did not get better for them, though, as they lost a Block/Guard lino MNG to a Rock on the kickoff, and another jman to blocks. Los Angeles moved into scoring range, but snaked a GFI to fail the turn 8 score.

Khemri take over the top of the standings with a pair of victories, and the Week 3 games continue to trickle in. Here are your next set of recaps!

Week 3
AWC South vs. NWC North

Colorado Chipmunks 3 - Detroit Delvers 0

Detroit pushed the ball in fast. Colorado marked the ball-carrier, and while he survived the next round of hits, he failed a block through reroll the turn after to dump the ball free. A Chipmunk grabbed it, and while he was quickly downed, it bounced to another Chipmunk. Colorado failed to blitz the ball free, then missed a dodge to send the ball into the crowd. Detroit removed several Chipmunks from the field, but used their last reroll in the process, and a Skull on a -2d block let Colorado reclaim the ball and head downfield. Detroit could not find a Pow on their next blitz, and Colorado took a 1-0 lead. Pitch Invasion on the next kickoff took down Detroit's intended retriever, and while they fell back to grab the ball, they did not have time to score. A touchback gave Colorado the ball forward to start the second half, and they blitzed, dodged and GFI'd for a two-turn touchdown, although this cost them their chainsaw. The Delvers went on the offence again, dodging Chipmunks to pass the ball forward. The ball changed hands several times, eventually being crowded to the same spot as during the first half, and Colorado again got to it first, passing the ball to protect it for a turn, then handing off the next to score. Detroit could not find the dice to score in the two turns left in the game.

Nehekhara Guardians 3 - Argentine Noldorins 0

Nehekhara caged; Argentina screened. Nehekhara could not make progress for a while, but Argentina finally failed dodges on consecutive turns, then Skulled their desperation block, and the Guardians went up 1-0. The second Rock of the game also hit a Noldorin, stunning a blitzer as they started the second half. A snaked pickup let Nehekhara steal the ball. Argentina gave up on defending the second score, surfing one Guardian and gang-fouling another, and Nehekhara went up 2-0 on turn 4. It was Nehekhara's turn to screen as Argentina restarted their offence, but another Skulled block let the Guardians at the ball again. Argentina got it back, but the Sun stopped their pass forward, and Nehekhara stole the ball again for 3-0.

AWC East vs. NWC West

Green Back Smackers 2 - Hollywood Roundup Gang 1

Hollywood set up very wide for offence, running both wardancers and star Jordell Freshbreeze in deep. One made it to the end zone for turn 2, but dropped the pass, and Green Back grabbed it. Hollywood knocked it free, but it was caught by another Smacker, and Green Back pushed the nearby Gangers away. Hollywood used their wizard to knock it free again, but it dropped into two Green Back tackle zones, and the blitz to bounce it just gave it back to the Smackers. Green Back dodged away to get the ball downfield, but it was knocked free again. A Roundup Ganger managed a pickup, but failed the dodge away, and Green Back got it to safety for a turn 8 score. Green Back moved the ball up in the second half, but a -2d Strip Ball blitz freed it again. Jordell Freshbreeze failed the pickup, but the ball bounced through three other players before just ending up with him after all. Green Back misclicked for a move instead of a blitz to try and hit him, and Jordell escaped downfield, but failed a GFI while trying to get out of range. A Smacker marked him, but he dodged away the next turn, grabbing the ball, and this time making the GFIs to score. Green Back punched back in. Hollywood kept after the ball, but the -2d Strip was caught by another Smacker, and the 1d the turn after didn't have Tackle. Hollywood's final blitz didn't even make it to the ball, and Green Back took the win.

Week 4
AWC South vs. NWC North

Nehekhara Guardians 1 - Nocturne Falls Honey Badgers 0

The Guardians moved in in the Sweltering Heat. New Legend Reggie Wight Piled On on turn 1, and was promptly fouled for a KO, with the skelly in question being ejected. Nehekhara moved the ball up, but a mummy used Break Tackle to take him out. Nehekhara tried to secure the ball, but snaked a GFI before they could, and Nocturne Falls passed the ball forward. A blitzing Guardian found a Pow to down the ball-carrier, and neither side could get to scoring distance before time expired. Both teams were short players for the second half. Nocturne Falls moved the ball back for a couple turns before running it back forward. A Skulled 1d block gave Nehekhara a path to the ball-carrier, though, and he was Wrestled down. Both sides put multiple tackle zones on the ball, and the eventual Nocturne Falls pickup attempt could not find the needed 4+. The Honey Badger trying it was taken down and fouled out of the game as a consequence, and Nehekhara got the ball on turn 7, scoring when Nocturne Falls could not manage the final blitz.

AWC North vs. NWC South

Vancouver Rot-Nucks 1 - Cleveland Children 0

The Children ran around without making much progress, and without causing much damage. A failed 2d blitz finally let a Rot-Nuck - Big Hand/Sure Hands pestigor Alex Ed-decomp-ler - down the Cleveland ball-carrier. Cleveland pushed Alex back, but failed the Sure Hands pickup, and he blitzed a path to the ball, grabbing it and dodging free to score. Cleveland restarted their attack down three Children, including their ClawPOMBer. They moved the ball up behind a screen, but failed a GFI to MNG their ball-carrier. Vancouver grabbed the ball for the rest of the half. The remaining Children got a Blitz to start the second half, but Vancouver still got the ball first. A four-target fireball missed three but took the Vancouver beast down for an MNG. A failed dodge ended Cleveland's turn before they could do more than mark the ball-carrier, but a Rot-Nuck failed a block to send the turn back. The teams continued to trade fails for a bit, but Vancouver blitzed the ball-carrier into scoring range. A return blitz from Cleveland took him down and gave the Children the ball. They moved it up, but attrition left them unable to screen properly, and Vancouver took out their ball-carrier. Cleveland got the ball back on turn 7, but could not get away, and Vancouver once again took the ball away, holding on as time expired.

Winchester Wicked Wrongdoers 1 - Shadowland Golds 1

Winchester removed two Golds on turn 1, and another Gold did for himself with a failed dodge on their turn 1. More fail ensued for Shadowland, interrupted briefly they managed a -2d Strip Ball blitz. Winchester took it back, though, manhandling the Golds before scoring on turn 8, by which time Shadowland had failed five dodges and a GFI. Shadowland drove in and then reversed in the second half, hitting and screening, and while the failed dodges continued, this time they were more understandable due to Diving Tackle. A failed Sure Feet GFI from a Wicked Wrongdoer gave Shadowland the opening to even the game. Winchester caged and moved in. A Wrongdoer got to scoring range on turn 7, but +ST thrower 'Golden' Theo Jackson made dodges and GFIs to find a Pow, and Winchester failed their final pickup attempt.
