Hello everyone.

I conceded my WO game this evening because I realised that my 'glories' at BB had become more important to me than my relationship with my wife and with my God. Hence I have have deleted all my teams and will be taking a break from playing. I'll still be around on irc and on forums though so you won't miss me!

I would like to say that the reason I conceded was not in the end the length of time my opponent was taking and I don't want anyone to blame him for what happened. The game was just the point where I realised that I should be downstairs with my wife instead of on the PC playing a game that in the grand scheme of things won;t gain me anything. Also, I think turn limits would be a shame. We were both taking 4 or 5 minute turns and so my oppo was no more at fault than me for slow play. Turn limits would make it a different game imo, but that is not what I want to say here.

I expect I'll be playing again in the future, but for now thinking about the game was occupying too much of my thinking time as well. I have an amazing wife who loves me very much who is 16 weeks pregnant with my first child and I think about OTS startegies and probabilities instead of ways to love her and our baby-to-come. I have a God who saved me from the wretched life I used to lead and from the judgement to come and I think about team developement instead of the glorious future he has prepared for me with Jesus. I must be mad!

Not mad, but just human. Thankfully God is patient and knows my weaknesses and has revealed to me know what my problem is and has also given me stregth to solve it! Deleting the Superheroes was easier than I expected.

Lastly, my opponent pm'd Christer offering me his WO place after I conceded because he felt guilty at what had happened. He is the true winner. He keeps his place and I wish him well in the tourney.

Hi PeteW
I've never played against you or talked to you in the chat i think. But i just want to say that you prioritize right. Family first. Its a shame that this is so damn fun. I have to read my wife every time I want to play cause it feels wrong to sit here instead of there. Take care and good luck with the pregnancy.

Wow Riffraff....

I find that attack on Pete's personal beliefs as repulsive as I find someone else preaching religion of any kind to me.

You have done something far far worse in this post than Pete has in admitting he believes in god, and having some info in his profile page.

And whats wrong with you anyway? I never had a problem having time for the kids and my wonderful lady just because i like to play online games. How could that ever be a conflict if someone isnĀ“t a total nerd or hates his family? And why do you retire all your teams? You could leave your account as it was. Is it so hard for you to have some time with your wife as long as you have active teams? Poor lady and shame on you then. Also you could make your decision one hour earlier or later and not ingame by conceding. I think you just wanted the attention from the members of this site..

Oh Jesus! Smile Good for you that you never had a problem with your family. If I only had known that when I had to chose. Attention from us? Heck we all know who the guy is! Of the tourneys he has won, about breaking the CR200 line. Sadly i also know who you are now.....

I hope you will stay away from fumbbl or at least keep your dangerous propaganda away.

Anyway...
I wish all the best for your child.

The same should go for you then. Cause its in the eye of the beholder (no not the monster in AD&D) What someone holds for true another one rejects. Here are you spreading your beliefs about the Bible and Christian/religious people. As Jesus said: "He who is free from sin, throw the first stone" or something similar. I dont really know cause I'm that religious. Smile

Actually, if you read it, its just vile. Petes post was purely optimistic, and everyone eho knows pete is that he doesnt really evangelise, except through his actions. The same cant be said for our friend Riff Raff.

Must be pretty angry against religion or with himself to post something like that. I feel sory for the guy...

And, it looks to me like another BigMac post... new account?

Oh - I ended up thinking that arguing in one thread was enough for one day - and that it didn't need me pointing out that this wasn't the time or the place for RiffRaff to spout off. So I deleted it. But I guess this has reposted it! Very Happy

There was actually another poster after me who came to the same conclusion - you know who you are! Razz

Being prejudiced is bad. And wrong. There should be a new, stronger word for it, like... badong.

Damn, one of the few guys in the loop that actually made a little bit of sense (I'm not talking about religous beliefs now) is gone. Sad

Sigh... Criticizing someone elses believes without knowing him is sick...

Besides that, good choice PeteW. I'm sure most of us would have done just the same (except the retiring thing, perhaps Smile).
