I am still in shock to see that not a single Orc team qualifyed. And I really hope no Orc team gets in via the lottery. It Would be historical with a major where not a single Orc team is pressent. So I hope that the 3 remaining slots goes to some of the under represented races (but not orc). |

I'm still holding out hope that some of the weaker, least-deserving teams make it in via the lottery (specifically my own)  |

That can't happen. My Orc team is going to win The Lottery.
We decided that was the best way into the main draw months ago.
So that's what we are going to do. Check it and see.  |

Sadly, no. Your rats are still in worse shape.
My ogres on the other hand, came through their opening-round elf'ing with nary a scratch. They'd be an ideal lottery pick *hint*hint* |

You know the more I think about it Synn's idea about the down period between the qualifiers and main draw is starting to sound really good. The "prep" games seem to allmost allways go "sideways" and you were better off just standing pat.
Synn's idea was to eliminate all the MNG off all players and award a standard amount of cash to all the qualifier winners and off you go. It is a great idea because it protects your team from yourself! |

Errrrrr..... my idea wasn't for the benefit of teams thinking about playing games in between the quali and the tourney.
It was to stop the blatant recovery game madness that was rampant at the time. Where by one coach who averages 3+ fouls a game would feed a team to a qualified coach and not a single foul would take place.

Thanks for the clarification synn..
BUT the main benefit is to protect yourself from yourself IMO.
and I do agree that limiting the # of games was the proper step to eliminate this underhanded tactic. |

I think the fact that PC will drop the banhammer on such a team helps.
But yes, I still am in favor of my original idea of:
-Remove all mngs
-Get 100k (plus the normal FF prize)
-Have your team locked until the main tourney starts

wow ... its over... and all we see....no orcs in a main draw... wee...
6 DEs more or less healthy
1 Skaventeam, utterly bashed in a "recovery game"
3 times Chaos... well known teams (Brotherhood, Lone stars) or at least well known coach (warriortsuke)
2 Dwarfteams
and 1 CD team to complete 13th qualifier.
so im pretty interested in the main draw, who is going to participate... who joins lottery and even more who will win it?! |
