I do really like gimmick starter skills. I've not spent enough time studying SL rosters yet, but I'm hoping for some fun there. |
Elementals is probably the team you are looking for, if its skill spam you want - https://fumbbl.com/help:ElementalT |

OP for me, but hopefully we'll get to test it. Bash teams just will not be able to deal with mass SF / AV9. Elves may be able to dodge away, but they will have a hard time making gaps. |

Red+Green elemental deck.. erm team would be pretty much surf city. Although playing a team with expensive players and not regen/apo might not be for the faint of heart |

Naa, they are all st3 men with no block, wrestle or dodge and if you take rocks as your linemen they are pretty slow. The teams fine. |

I will sometimes take stand firm before mighty blow on a dwarf or chaos dwarf blocker. Guard first, then stand firm. Having a large number of guard/stand firm guys means you can end up in board states where your opponent starts their turn in contact with most of your team but can't get a 2 die block. Without stand firm they can take a 1 die block looking for a push to open things up.
When a team is starting out you want mighty blow first, maybe one guard or two. But once your team is established with several guard/mighty blow/stand firm characters new players just need to get back to guard/stand firm as fast as possible because guard/stand firm gets better and better as you have more of it. Piling on gets worse and worse as you have more of it, since you only get one blitz. |

I'd like Dodge instead of Diving Catch on Slann Catchers.
Gimmick skills are good if the player starts with sound, core skills. |

Well, with starter skills, you can cost accordingly. If Slann Catchers had Dodge they'd also have to be more expensive, but DC as a gimmick can be near-free. |

If they're sound, they're not gimmicks! |

I do think earth elemental linos are pretty strong. Orc linos with stand firm and S access for 10k.
Cheap positionals but expensive big guys. Would have to see it in action. More importantly, looks fun though. =) |

Slann are awesome that respect. They have all the skills I think about taking, but never would because Id rather core skills. Diving Catch, Diving Tackle, and JU. It's really a unique team. I wish I could figure them out. |

The best thing about DC (that many forget) is that it adds +1 to Catch accurate Passes, which makes it a poor man's NoS. |
