not bad, we should have a smack medal (medal probably better due to the frequency) - and with those of us that are too succesful (not me) and wins lots of smacks etc, they could have just the ribbons with multiples |

Excellent work Dog
I like the banner. Simple with not too much to distract you. Black and grey colours denoting seriousness. Well done. |

The logos are so nice, but the letters on the main banner are quite weak. |

Good idea, I'd prefer bolder letters and a less realistic style though (as in the FUMBBL SMACK logo). |

BNWD, this UI banner is far superior to the earlier concepts. The simplicity is key, the lantern is very nice and symbolic of the tourney's story. |

Alough there were many symbols and icons that could be used for the UI banner I felt that the strongest of these themes was the lantern.
Quote: | BACKGROUND
Each year, teams from across the globe undertake a perilous sea voyage to the Isles of Ulthuan. Many are invited, but only a few teams successfully navigate the misty seas that surrounds the magical Elven Isles.
As the teams arrive at the Outer Isles, they compete for one of the 16 magical Phoenix Lanterns that will guide them towards the heart of Ulthuan.
Once brought together, the light from the Lanterns dispel the once impenetrable mists to reveal the legendary Asur Dome. Under the bright Phoenix Lanterns, the remaining 16 teams compete for the coveted Ulthuan Invitational Prize. The tournament winner receives blood bowl gear infused with potent elven magic made from Vaul's Forge. |
This is the mark II version of the draft I posted before. I have tried to give the background more depth by adding the water ripple and the lanterns shaddow to a gradient background.
The main reason for doing this howerver was to add depth to the mist I have added, without the depth of field in the background the mist looked flat.
Note to myself: Try saving as png rather than jpeg as the mist has lost some of its impact when converting from CS2 to low rez jpeg. |

Nice, BNWDawg.
If it were up to me, you'd get a free pass to the UI for that. |

I use photoshop CS2 as I have a full copy for my work. I hear GIMP is good though (and free), paintshop pro is another layer based editor that can also be used to create such images.
These programs are not for beginers, but once you get the hang of them the posibilities are endless!

Hehe thanks Mr Sun, if only my skill on the bloodbowl field mached my image editing skills |
