Welcome to the main draw of the Ulthuan International. As a participant its diffcult to be objective, but nethertheless better than no predictions ;-D

Thats a matchup as we want to see at a major. HighTR woodies vs cashloaded Humans. Its a question of money + stars vs overall blodge and passing game. And its very hard to predict... woodies with 5 nigglers, humans with just 4 times tackle... depends on the niggling rolls 1 of 5... and its pretty likely the woodies will win. On the other hand the humans might be able to outbash the Elfs. So befor the game started its about 50-50.

Orcs vs DE. with two highsklilled participants. I guess this will be a really good match up. The orcs dont have that much tackle, but nethertheless some awesome <img src=http://fumbbl.com/files/images/orc/blackorc.png> players . 60k for the orcs might be a chainsaw or a wiz. 80k for the DE but 3 niggles. i expect a great game with a 2-1 for the DE just in time. Wiz for the win.

DE mirror match. a what a match... High skilled players vs spread ssp. 13 players on texan's side vs 15 on azure's. In a normal game, i'd go for texan. but in a tourney, with a short bench and playing OT in the worst case...

A classic "run around the block" WE game. OTT for the woodies. Claw + rsc for the Chaosteam. So the question is, will the chaosteam be fast enough to get rid of the elfish players? 240k for the Chaos but no star will be a real help. On the other hand a chainsaw might chop down some trees. i guess woodies will buy a wiz. And i think it might be important if the woodies get a 2nd Handicap or not. Even if the cas will build up, the woodies should be able to score 2 times with the OT and burn with wiz for a 3-1.

Vamps allways hard to predict. on one day they wont hurt any player and on the other they will drink more blood than might be good for them. the dwarfs win record isnt that good and didnt played Vamps that often. On the Other hand he will get 2 Handicaps. IF SillySods will keep up, he will win this game as well. Go Vamps Go.

Over 350 games and still in shape, this Lizzis are unchallenged. But this game will a tough one. just 12 Lizzis, but some money to get 2 skinks. i think they will be needed or hope for a low amount of cas and hire a wiz. 3 Handicaps will hurt. The dwarfs might hire a runelord?

# of FF: 326 on 16 teams - makes 20.4 per team (FF26 for Cult of shadow,Sorrow and wijac)
overall spared cash: 2.240k on 16 teams - makes 151.9k per team (450k for Monkey lsland SwashBucklers)
# of games: 2097 on 16 teams - makes 131 games per team (396 for the assassins)

What is there to say about this match up. I think this will be a funny game to watch with these n00b coaches and think the humans will screw up less than the woodies.

Surprisingly these are the only orcs that made it to the play offs. They are strong orcs but they have a poor record against elfs so they might have trouble with these darkies.

This one surely is the best game of the round. 2 top quality coaches with closely matched dark elf teams. I have a weakness for startrek teams though.

Dwarfs vs Vampires! The dwarfs have a very poor record and only win if they get loads of cas. I think the vamps will pull out a win here.

Can these humans beat another elf team? I think they can with a little help of a star (the darkies have no strip ball or daunt/ST4+tackle so a count or grif with the ball is hard to handle) especially when they bring their Nuffle friend like in their previous game.

The darkies got beaten up heavily in round 1 by their kin while the skaven easily disposed of some dirty dwarfs without damage. Starting with only 10 players will prove to be a severe handicap for the darkies.

I didn't expect either of these teams to make it to the second round. The woodies almost outcassed that on paper nasty looking chaos that had just clipped their claws it seemed. The dwarfs mauled the vamps so they can do that to these woodies now.

Another 2 teams that I didn't expect in the second round. The darkies have a flawless record vs dwarfs and are much stronger on paper. They can't rely on their dodge skill, which they seem to prefer over side step, vs the tackle loaded dwarfs and the dwarfs get some handicaps to compensate the strength difference.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that and elf team will win the UI this year... Four of the strongest competitors meet already in the first round: Texan-Azure and Bytez0r-p4m. I'm guessing the champion is in one of those matches.
Vampires have never passed the round of 16 in a major, so I'm rooting for SillySod. Go Vampires! Neither Humans or Lizards have ever reached a final, so that would also be cool. The Lizards won't make it this time either, but FG might be able to buy his way there. Go Humans! |

1-2 niggles and losing coin toss hurt woodies too much. Humans already have a better team&coach, hiring a star makes it even more clear win.

If dwarves win coin toss, they are strong. Easy 2 ko/cas on the 1st turn and then it might continue more and more easily from there, dp foul every turn etc.

Av9 vs av7. Dwarves have "slightly" better team and get 2(/1) handicaps. Dwarves have: 9 Guards, 6 Mighty blow, 4 blodgers. Vampires have: 3 guards (2 without block), 3 blodgers, 1 mighty blow. Vampires run out of players very soon. Even if all OFAB rolls succeed. Then it is 2 vampires vs 11 dwarves...

1 lizzie can with over double movement run away from 5 dwarves.. 5 st4 and 2 st5 players when dwarves have only one st4 players, and just a bit more guards means that lizzies will be more agile AND more bashy... Kroxigor has block and will tie 3 dwarves quite easily. St5 saurus also has block. Both st5 players also have breack tackle so lizzies can move those players easily so they tie many dwarves.

i made a few mistakes, they got punished with a score, i had luck on the kickoff rolls.. even game, maybe i could have played it more secure.. but it worked out in the end. |
