When you transfer gold it adds to your TV. So for example you have TV 1000, your opponent 1040. If you had transferred 50 you could have got babes and he would have 10k to spend. |

No, you spend 50 gold your TV becomes 1050. So now your opponent becomes the underdog. |

And if you actually take 2 seconds to read the petty cash dialog, it shows exactly how much free inducements you will get as you update the amount of petty cash you spend. |

You would need to add 50 because petty cash adds to your TV. It's pretty simple if you think about it |

No, whenever you add money to petty cash, your TV increases (and thus lowers the difference between you and your opponent). So it's basically useful if you have plenty of treasury and really need a specific inducement. Since your TV rises above your opponent's, he'll get inducements after that as well, though probably not that much. The inducement money you would have gotten due to your lower TV is simply gone.
Use what you get or pay the full inducement prize from your treasury.
Edit:
I've been way to slow with my answer. It should have referred to this:jarvis_pants wrote: | but im already 40TV down if i spend 50 i should be 90tv down confused |

unless the overdog is using petty cash too, then you need to start to think one step more.
Also note that petty cash that are not spent in the inducement phase, you get those back at the end of the game, however those money still counts towards your TV for calculating spiralling expenses. |

Overdog transfers to petty cash, increasing his TV but getting money to spend on inducements
Underdog transfers cash to petty cash, also increasing his TV - only really worth doing if there are specific inducements you need for the game and can afford from your treasury, but not inducement cash
TV difference is calulated
Both teams spend petty cash on inducements, with underdog getting a bonus to this amount based on the TV difference...
