I've searched the forum and rules, but couldn't find anything (might be my lack of skill!).
The questions are these:
1) Do we play by LRB over time rules (=sudden death) or do we play full over time? I know the unranked tourneys can be decided by the founder and staff, but how about the official ones?
2) If the over time ends as a tie do you get the +1 modifier per reoll as the LRB states? (which I guess is the same for all tourneys) |

The overtime lasts full 8 turns, even if one team scores.
When the overtime ends and it's still tied the winner is chosen randomly. |

Funny that you bring it up. I was convinced the overtime was sudden death, but when I watched a game with an 8 turn overtime that didn't end after the first touchdown, I looked it up in the LRB and couldn't find anything about a sudden death overtime anymore. I guess this is one more thing that was changed somewhere along the road. |

you must not have looked hard then..
pg 16, LRB4.0
Quote: | If the match is tied at the end of
the second half, then it goes into ‘sudden death overtime’. Flip
the Blood Bowl coin to see who kicks-off, and then play a third
series of eight turns per team. Any re-rolls still remaining at the
end of full time may be used in overtime. The first team to score
wins the match. |

Why is this necessary? Why couldn't you have just quoted the LRB and be done with it, you know real nice like? Why do people on these boards always have to come across as know-it-all snots? |

we have low self-esteem which we feel the need to compensate by putting others down. That's why, I guess. |

because it was true.. I brought up the PDF of lrb 4. did a search for Overtime..the 2nd occurance of the word overtime had the definition given. It was easy to find. So, someone saying they looked in the LRB and couldn't find ANYTHING, obvisously did not look very hard at all. Nothing wrong with point that out.. Wasn't meant as an insult (tho it might come across as that)...it was a statement of fact. |

Ah, I wasn't aware you could search in PDFs, good to know. Yeah, with a search function I was able to find it as well. What I did was look at the index - no mention of an overtime there. Then I browsed important sections of the LRB. Since I still couldn't find it and the match continued, I figured that it was one of the many things that were changed.
However, now that you point out that it didn't change, this begs the question why the overtime is played for 8 turns then, if the LRB states that the first Touchdown counts? Usually we do play by the book around here. |

living rulebook is a good fluff book and an awful rule book.
if you don't know where to search for something, you'll never find it.
there are no pies and no toats, round here. |
