It seems that a lot of people take Kick on their throwers. I don't understand this strategy. Can anyone explain it to me? |

I don't get it either.
What I do know is that since you only field your kicker when you are kicking (duh) it stands to reason that your opponent will have the ball. In that light, it's probably a good idea to give your kicker strip ball. |

It's a strategy employed by people, who do not see the value of accurate, safe throw, block, dump off on their throwers, so they go out and essentially waste a skill on a very important positional player. The throwers shouldn't even be fielded if you are kicking. |

i dont usually do it, as my throwers usualy score while running!
if you want you can have 2 throwers, one offensive and one defensive, with one with block strip ball, kick for backfield spillages |

Disagree here. A thrower on defense can be the key to turning the game around and transforming a defensive position to a quick score.
If given the chance i would develop an offenssive thrower with accurate, strong arm, safe throw, dumpoff etc. and a defensive one with block, accurate, tackle and NOS on doubles. If for nothing else then the free reroll on picking up the ball and possibillity for the intentional grounding thus destroying the opponents offense.
But i would never select kick on a thrower..

I like Kick on DP linemen.
Throwers are too busy getting other skills. |

i am one of the people who religiously takes kick on throwers
sure they're good on offense and all, but you dont need them for the run game, and on defense they can be essential, a defense that can steal the ball than quickly move it to a different part of the field is great |

I'd give kick to orc throwers any time.
I never field linos with orcs, so a thrower gets kick. |

thats exactly it cloggy, throwers are usually pretty close to linos with a skill or two, those skills are usable on defense if you play to steal the ball, and on most teams if you field throwers on defense there arent a whole lot of linos to put off the line |

I love seeing kick on a thrower, as long as it is the opponents thrower |

It depends on the team... I put kick on a Human Blitzer at 76 because the last kicker died and there was no Linemen even remotely close to a next skill.
Apart from the offensive/defensive Thrower approach (which certainly has merits) the other issue is team numbers and the fact that Linemen on non elf teams can find it very hard to get to 6 (let alone 16 for DP and Kick) once the team is established. If you got low numbers of players, sometimes you have to field a thrower on defence anyway, so why not have some defensive skills?
One more thing is redundancy. On offence, I target the kicker for a blitz if he is up front, because usually he has fewer skills. Teams with two kickers can handle one being KO or MNG or whatever, or in the case of uber teams who give up handicaps a lot, Morley's, It Wasn't Me etc. |
