Its under discussion atm Smile

Just a problem with timing. We can't really pull out last season's champs in the middle of this season. Might have a solution for a spectacle though, but if we want to do it in future, we need to time our leagues to finish at the same time.

Firstly I wanna say sorry in case my assent with Shaka's issues with his SWL regional division this season were interpreted as any sort of attack on the SWL. It totally isn't, I had my best BB fun ever playing in the SWL and fully support the way that operates. I agree completely with oz's "run the gauntlet" summary up there.

I ought to explain (in the SWL thread probably) that I'm only not playing the SWL now because I totally can't do Australian evening games. My easy Australian daytime availability just rocks for the NWL though...and it works even better because I have a USA residing brother in the NWL too.

However, the NWL differs from the SWL in one pretty major way : it's new and it needs (committed) coaches. It has just enough of these now, and we all hope more are coming, but basically it's a smallish (if keen & clever) kid of a league compared to the wise old (and occasionally brutal) man that the SWL is.

So if a bit of silk-paving helps a few coaches get a leg up I'm ok with it. I'm also aware that that might encourage the wrong sort of coach too. It's also possible that it would allow a coach the chance to get into their team and the format before they get the inevitable brutalisation that is in every BB team's not that distant future. This league format needs coaches who bounce back from that !

Perhaps the league page could be altered to add some paraphrases and such from oz above or Snorri over in the SWL Season 18 thread there (page 11) about this format being intentionally challenging and, like real life, not always fair ?

In the mean time, I'm perfectly happy with the format now and I'm having a good time with it.

I hate trying to work out comparative times with GMT but since I am now house biatch with the kids I have a bit of time on my hands during the day so I might look at this NWL concept as 1 game a week in SWL isnt quite giving me my weekly dose of BB humiliation I require for a suitably balanced ego....I'd just need someone to talk veeery slooowly to me when I work out what time I am supposed to be online to play if I get in Smile
Dont even start me with the daylight savings stuff <sigh>
When are you taking applications & is there an equivelent to the SWL "Racial Balance Roster" so I can work one out ahead of time ready to apply with? Looking at the the teams only ones without 2 or more seem to be Elves, Liz's. Nurgle & Undead?

Website does it for me...I save my NWL opponents any hassle by always talking USA times with them too (even pretending I'm on the east coast sometimes..).
