To all of you... you disgust me. Especially Meech. There will be no "high roading" today.

Was it the thong I was wearing backwards?

And remember, its the bashing coaches that are most cherrypicking.

I Beg to differ.... I think Elf coaches tend to be the most picky coaches.... But im sure this could and will and have been discussed to death...

Impresive thread
Hail Mary for Pac's vamp
...
Make a group with random matches in [U]nranked (to be constructive)
...
I'm the most picky, I use to play the first challenger, or the second, I don't know (fairly ramdon)
(that would be best for bashy) ^ (bashy teams are the most picky) => Pie (you can alwais make any conclusion following weird statements (the Pie is dedicated to Buur))
(translation of "Pie" from spanish to that: "Foot")
(internet problems today, I'm a bit tired, sorry) |

Random matches with random team from a large pool of equally strong teams would be nice competitive place.
It would need another div - maybe a coach ladder. |

It isn't really that hard to do random matches if you want to. One just puts a team on gamefinder then counts the number of teams within range, rolls a die and challenges the opponent that the nmber is (so if there's six opponents you assign one number for each opponent, roll a die and. you know the rest). Sure it isn't random for BOTH players, but the effect is there so that it's random for those that want random games and unrandom for those that don't
Damn, this is actually a good idea. I might try it out with a team some day. |

Bloodbowl is all down to luck though.
The whine is kinda lame in many ways for a number of reasons.
In table top i used to play a heavy bashy orc team.
Now ive had games when ive bashed the living crap out of an elf team and then a "weaker" Wood Elf team manages to BH + 4 of my guys. Not to mention all the double skulls.
At the end of the day you can be an experience BB player vs a rookie and still be beat because you get poor dice or they get great ones.
The whole cherry picking / bashy issue in this community seems more an issue for people who want to wrap their presious little bloggy AG4 linemen in cotton wool.
Shit, in our local league the most intimidating team on the field was actually a Woodie one with 4 Dps and a Str 4 Mighty blow Wardancer. They all had block and averaged 2 casualties a day.. even the chaos teams wouldnt go near them.
so to sum it up as a first post here ( even if it is a negative one )
Stop trying to philosophise or work out ways to help bashers / dodgers.
If nuffle is gonna give you a run of Pows you can bet he will give you a run of Skulls in 5 mins time.
that applies to you if you are Strength 5 or strength 1.
What use is a POW if you fail the armour roll anyway ???? |

Seriously, could it be coded into the bowlbot?
You pm bowlbot/nuffle with the command !randommatch vet, and then Bowlbot spits out the proxy of a random matchup. Simply have the proxy as a random 6 figure number, and have the bands used in Smack tourneys. Bowlbot randomly generates a number, feeds it out twice to the first 2 people in that range, and then regenerates another number...It would only have to track about 6? variables, and wouldnt take much work to code I think.
The reason why I say PM is to stop other coaches checking in the channel to see who had used bowlbot previously and their teams. |

how about an optional "Automatch Game" that coaches can voluntarily enter their team into, while keeping the standard gamefinder for those who want to pick their opponents? Coaches could also have a seperate w/t/l record for automatch games
edit: if someone already suggested this, i didnt read the entire thread |

You could code it into an IRC bot of your own (no need to get Christer or someone else to do it) ... and can make it as simple or complex as you want.
I have written a bot in perl that does a fair chunk of what is needed.
- pulls TR/TS of each team from the group page (the idea is that anyone wanting to take part would join the group with their teams)
- parses "lfg" commands (from /msg or in the channel)
- sends a message to each coach when a "suitable" match is found (within 10TS), with a link to use the fumbbl game launcher to start the game
it could be expanded in all sorts of ways (pull coach's w/d/l record, CR, add special cases for teams that need help (dwarves vs zons))... |

Random matches against your own race. As far as I know, all wood elves (excluding treeman) have av7 and all dwarves have av9. No more complaints about av9 v av7. |
