Chapter 2: The Kurnous Crown:

TR176+ group 1:

In a group were 3 teams were really famous, Mountain Dwellers, Lokomotive Troja , Total Muppet, two other unknown team started to show a great ability to play: Earldom Panthers, and Anges de la mort. These two teams could remove the dwellers from their first place.

Dalendale the wardancer really didn’t feel like seeing a dwarven team winning this group but he couldn’t do anything against that. He sended a message to the dwarves asking them if they thought that Kurnous Crown was a good training ground for the next Altdorf Classical KO cup, just to let them remember about their first round elimination there.

Dalendale wished the Earldom Panthers win it. Those elves could finally be really talented.

The second group was a weird one. Powerfull Evil teams composed this group while lighter and more agile ones were in group 1. Even if the groups were set randomly, Kurnous or maybe fate decided that the playoffs would be a showdown between different styles. Three servants of chaos gods, a Khemri team, an ork team and a chaos dwarf one were battling for the first place.

And belonging to them, the True Cultist of Tempus, the most infamous team EVER. And they showed why. Despite great teams facing them, they already were number one. Could the dangerous Spanish Chaos Dwarves, 5th biggest team in history, face them? Dalendale doubted of it. The cultist seemed unstoppable. But great outsiders were there: Stargate Power, Tempting Fate, Nurgles Children, all teams that showed there ability to play and that were seen in previous big tournaments. Just one team was unknown. The Sexy Lovers .
Dalendale laughed loud. Sexy lovers…. For orks…. Even no elf would accept to play under that name.

For him the main question was: With the Spanish Chaos Dwarves and the True Cultist of Tempus in this group, and if they qualifies for the playoffs (what was likely to happen). Would could the other group have ANY chance?

Frowwa, Son of Lobba has finally managed to piece together the whispers and with personal insight into the workings of his father's mind, track down the hiding Light and Dark. He shall join the team by his fathers side as was always the intention for this talented youngster.
He Tells of the awful happenings from home, where the family and friends of Light and Dark players past and present are being imprisoned and tortured for information relating to where the "turncoats" can be found.
He also tells his father of the rumours regarding the order to maim the players of Light and Dark but also of an assasin or spy sent to find them and report to Dalenwing.
Lobba calms his son's fears but his suspicions of rotiarT are increased by what he has heard. There's something just not right about that guy and where does he keep disappearing to?

Cover in fear puny mortals cause heaven will shatter above us. Mighty Atlas has fallen and now nobody carry the weight of the sky anymore.

Lokomotive Troja kept a tough fight to stop the winning streak of Mountain Dwellers.

Let the gods be with us.

From "Luccini Gazette"

Torre rides, wins and defeat the cleric curse
Last week the Tarocchi team captain, Torre, won the annual horse racing "Palio" held in Luccini.
People of homonymous district (torre) in Luccini prayed the captain to ride their horse after 43 years without winnings to defeat the cleric curse.
40 years ago, a cleric of another district (oca) cursed the torre 'cause they killed 40 gooses ("oca" in Tilean language) to celebrate the victory.
After that, no one was able to win, even if the curse was already finished.*
A bronze statue for captain Torre is in production in torre district.
After his great victory, Torre played his second match in Kournos Crown tournement, leading to victory his team, Tarocchi, vs Green Smoke, an orc team.

Chapter 2:The Kurnous Crown

The TR 151-175 was running quickly. The first group already had 2 teams over.
The Soul of Corruption and the Hellgate Firedevils were already over with the Kurnous Crown regular season.

The Firedevils ended up with one win vs the Reborn Green Heroes, one of the two wood elves teams. Dalendale was sick about it. The orks won this one, but didn’t even perform well elsewhere. Ok, the Green Hoeroes weren’t known in the Old World (0 group point) but they entered this game with an 8/1/1 reslut. In minor leagues, right but Dalendale knew their talent!

With Soul of corruption win over Hellgate Firedevil, and draw vs the very prestigious F-1, they secured 10 points and showed they were maybe able to compete at high level.

F1 had 12 points and one game left vs the Green Heroes. Might the Green Heroes win it, they would be first. F1 just need a draw to secure their first place. Nothing impossible for the 5th best team in history (now that Bugmann XXX dwarves stepped out).

Dalendale had to admit it: F-1 clearly was the top favourite.

In the other group, Maurai(pro) the chaos dwarves, and the Bekende Vlamingen were over.

Maurai and their dirty still knew they won the group. Dalendale hated them. Nasty and dirty play was their common game style. He hoped someone could stop them.
Bekende Vlamingen had to retire. The Kurnous Crown, centre of beautiful game style, elvish style so to say, where nearly killed by the succession of 2 games. Maurai made them remember the ancient hatred of the 2 races, and Blue Nile BBC showed there raw hitting power. 4 deathes in 2 games. Just 7 dwarves left that decided to disband and find more luck in new teams.

The Skateborders missed their last big chance to win it by being beaten by Maurai in the 4th round. Dalendale would have preferred them to win, despite High elves always were so pretentious. This was a famous High elf team (10group points 30th in standing, 1st within high elves). It was bad that they did not start at full roster.

The Blue Nile never won, nor did the World Edge Wombats, but they had 1 and 2 games left to show at least some skill in playing the ball. Well Dalendale heard the Wombats reached the finals in the Bronze edition. How did they do?

Chapter 2: Kurnous Crown.

The Council Members were sitting in a circle, Dalendale standing in the centre.

“So why did you contact us?” asked a blond haired elf, looking young and athletic but who were more than five hundred years old.
“I want a rule change for the Kurnous Crown”
“But why?”
“Look at Maurai . This team is just a bunch of nasty players that uses bad play to win games. When such behaviour gives them the first place, then, how is our tournament supposed to encourage ball playing?”
“Then it means they were the bests.” He answered calmely.
“ahhh, leave it. They have even beaten Skateborders, the best high elf team ever! This is a shame!”
“Then they might be talented…”
“They are chaos dwarves. Dirty playing is not meant for Kurnous Crown.”
“And what would be your solution?”
“Every time a player injury an other, he looses a point in the tournament”.

The Council Members stayed quiet for a while when an ancient said:
“This won’t to happen.”
“But why????”
“It is not a matter to discuss. Train our folk to play better. And this is the Council last word”

Dalendale left in rage. “They are stubborn; this tournament is far from the show it was supposed to be…”

Somewhere in Tilea:

“My Prince, My Prince, Tarrochi did it again!”
“What”
The servant took a while to catch his breath again.
“They won their group in Kurnous Crown, and reached the playoffs.”
“What a good news. Go and inform the crowd. Inform them too that a Tilean Tournament will take place. With Tarrochi playing so good, it can only help us to legitimate my power in Tilea.”

He tought: “Tarrochi is Tilea’s prodige”

(Prince power Stability value: +10% => 60% now)

TAROCCHI

The second tournement of NL series (Kournos Crown) is just finished and
Tarocchi, after a brilliant qualifying group, lost the semifinal (like in
Altdorf Tournement).

Still, the owner is moderately pleased...
"We've lost, right, but the team play a good blood bowl, we were a bit
unlucky and so we're out"
"The tarots predicted the defeat" confirms Torre "the cards moon and
tower told us that an evil race would have destroyed our plans"
"... and dark elves did the job... maybe this is the problem, we hadn't
been defeated by a glorious wood elf team or friendly dwarf or humans,
but by an evil dark elf team."
"The darkness is growing in Old World...."
"But your mission, telling the Truth to the people, how is going on?"
"We were in a good territory, the nation of wise Wood Elves, telling the
Truth there is not a problem"
"Good! Now your task is more difficult... you have to go to the New World,
in the Lustria swamps."
"We can do a good job there too, we hope we can come back with good
news"

Chapter 3: Orken Nomadic Brawl

Was this tournament really more dangerous than the Chaos League itself? Every orc would have said yes.

The Brawl started a few weeks ago and orks proved their dominacy over their turf. The Warlords of the Eight Peaks had number one place in the strongest group. Famoust Light and Dark, the dark elves betrayers, were unable to compete with the rough and bad play practisized in the tournament. The Warlords and their incredible ball carrierer Bolter Manix, were unstopable. How could someone steal him the ball? Nearly impossible!

Chapter 3: Orken Nomadic Brawl: The premise of a Clan War?

The tournament was running well and a lot of player left the field, their carriers broken as were their bodies. But behind the scene something bad for the Orken Tribes was going to occur. Four famous Clan Warlords wanted to unite the Tribes to attack the Old World, but none was really ready to leave the place for one of the other.

The Brawl was the right place to discuss of it. The four Warlords were:

-Gort Ironteeth: A Blackork who feared nobody and who firmly believed that Archaon's Chaos Horde were the best ally to conquer the Empire. He wasn't support in the idea because the other tought chaos were too dangerous.

-Torgush was one of the smartest orc around. He reached his place more by assassinating rivals than fighting with them. Therefore he always kept close links to skavens, that he usually paid to kill his rivals. He tried with the three others but the skavens missed them. He was ready to ally with the Horned Rat Servants, after all, with ork power and skaven quickness, they had their chances to succed in the task.

-Arshruck HammerHead was an ork supposed to be a "quarter-troll". His father was (so says the rumour though) half troll half black ork. His mother was a regular ork. Slow in his mind, violent, even more than black orks, sadististik, he is allied to Chaos dwarf. But to Torgush it is obvious that he is manipulated by them. His is nothing more than their puppet.

-Korgeon Brockenbone is a frightening leader. Some think that he is a chaman. Some think he is cursed. He doesn't speak a lot, always slowly and looking him in the eyes gives you a chill. He weres a robe, what is uncommon. His alliance with undeads and affiliated doesn't suit to many orks, but in his own clan, saying something against him meaned to join the undead ranks. Korgeon almost always had 2 deads that served him. This never suited to the three other Warlords.

During the whole tournement debates arise and more and more it became obvious that the outcome would be a fight between them.

Chapter 3:Orken Nomadic Brawl

Korgeon Smiled. So Koosnampje won the group, before even orks, Red orcs. "Maybe here we had an ally that could help" did he think. They were rumoured to be one of the best team ever, winning Altdorf Classical KO Cup, dedicating the win to the forces of Light. How strange. The team served their "mum". The neromcer that created the probably. Korgeon had to contact her.

Torgush had a look to the two first of the group: Green Death Knight and Camera Cafe. Added to the Red Orks, 3 out of 4 teams are orks. Since no orks likes undead nor Chaos, Torgush had a good chance to rally a maximum of orks to him. Only rival left would be the really stupid Arshruck.

Torgush knew that a fight vs the other Lords would leave him dead. He had to make it a bloodbowl competition![/u]

Chapter 3:Orken Nomadic Brawl

Gort saw in Means of Destruction win a good sign. If them, Soul of Corruption and especially the famous True Cultist of Tempus he would have a solid base of allies to work with. Now he had to find allied orks!

Chapter 2: The Kurnous Crown:

TR176+ Semifinal:

The True Cultist of Tempus were facing the Mountain Dwellers in a very tight and thrilling match were luck changed hands fast and Nuffle stopped both teams on their way to a TD.

1st Half had the Dwellers receiving but incredible blocks from the tempus side slowed their advanced especially with the new runner taken out in Turn 2. The Followers pushed hard and finally the Dwellers were forced to a risky move with the ball carrier slightly unprotected. With good blocking and some luck and the use of the last undo marker from Nuffle the Cultists blitzed the ball carrier and secured the ball. With fast pass and handoff action the outpaced the dwellers easily, leaving them no chance to blitz the goat standing before the TD line. Now luck changed hands for the first time, when the goats didnt make their well deserved td but tried to get the second dwarven runner out but the blitz resulted in a double skull giving the dwellers the opportunity to blitz the ballhandling goat for a 0:0 at halftime.
2nd Half had the luck still with the Dwellers when Ko the Mino and another CW early in the drive which increased the pressure on the ballhandling goats. Securing a tight lock on the Los the dwellers forced the Cultists to a spotted foul by star nobla blackwart. The dwellers now managed to outnumber the backfield goats by 4:2 which resulted in a nice blitz and a scatter, which was picked up in the following turn by a dwarven blitzer to move fast to the TD line. Shortly before he was stopped by Nuffle and a failed gfi, closing the half shortly after.
Overtime had the dwellers receiving and with only 10 Cultists left they advanced fast (for dwarven standards) to the endline where they scored in turn 6 leaving the Tempus side only three turns to score (with 9 players now). The Dwellers managed to blitz or deadlock all Cultist coming close to the Td line and fought off the Tempus side to finaly advance into the finals.

Chapter 2: Kurnous Crown

Dalendale sat down in the stadium in rage. The most promising group, with the Reborn Green Heroes and the Skateborder ended bad.

Skateborders lost to the famous F1 and the Green Heroes to the ugly Maurai. So after all, nasty playing worked in a tournament were TD, passing, quick playing was supposed to be the point. The Council seemed not to care.

In the TR0-125, Naggarythe Chill won. Another bad news. Are only their bad cousins able to mix up in the high rankings?

The Tr126-150 group trophey gone to the RatBurger winner of a game vs the darkelves DarkArk Avengers. Previously the two eliminated two famous teams, Tarrochi and the Sons of the Clan Skryre.

So now just one final is left: Dalendale looked at the entering team: The Dwarves named Mountain Dwellers. Bah at least they managed to beat the most dangerous team ever, the True Cultist of Tempus. But anyway the winner will be them, or the Angels of Death, Anges de la Mort in Bretonian. They have eliminated the Sexy Lovers. So whatever, or the winner will be those stupid dwarves or banned dark elves.

Dalendale took a long breathe.

"Maybe I am a wardancer, elite of the fighter of my nation, but I will do it anyway. I will create an alternative tournament with according rules. The Crown should be beautifull. It wasn't. The Council will see it by themselves. They will banish me but they will see the evidence. My ruleset will clearly be superior."[/quote]

Chapter 4: Altdorf Classical: The Horned Rat Scheme

30 days before the start of the Classical:

Snikkit, member of the clan Eshin, a skaven, sneaks into the Emperor's intendant (nota bene: discovered the real name of the word is bursar. going to use it later in the text) house and kidnap his daughter. He leaves a letter. "The winner of the tournament will gain the territory or your daughter is dead"

Snikkit was fully satisfied. If the plan worked they would possess the whole Empire. Hiding underneath their cities wouldn't make any sense anymore. Now the Ruhrpot rattens will have to doi the job

25 days before the start of the tournament:

Graf Todbringer came to Altdorf to officially ask to set the Classical KO Cup in Middenheim, since in Altdorf it was a fiasco. Karl Franz, the Emperor, didn't agree on the request.

"My Emperor, you may deny me the autorisation to get the Classical in the Middenland, but you have to admit we can't allow any futher loss to happen.

24 days before the start of the tournament:

The intendant had an idea to save both Empire and his daughter. Since Graf and the Emperor were near of an diplomatic trouble, he proposed that it could take place in Marienburg. Giving the good arguments, both agreed.

15 days before the start of the tournament:

The intendant goes to Marienburg. Since the town is a free city, the winner will just gain the town. To ensure the Merchants Conglomerat subscribe to the rules, he used an illusion spell so that they wouldn't read the real text.

14 days before the start of the tournament:

The Conglomerat signed the text.

8 days before the start of the tournament:

The horrible truth is discovered. The text proved to be impossible to destroy. Nor Magic, nor fire or human strenght had an effect of it.

7 days before the start of the tournament:

Despite the excuses, the argument, the bursar is executed for high betrayal to the Empire. Snikkit execute his daughter too. The bursars wife is called for complicity and emprisonned for life.

4 days before the start:

Both Empire and skavens calls for any bloodbowl team who could help in the task.
