Linegirls is offensive.
When individually or collectively refering to women as girls we unconciously (i hope) re-inforce centuries of stereotyping that portrayed women as lesser than real adults, less capable of adult decisions and actions.
Now that aside the central issue. Piffle. Lineman is a job description, not a racial or sexual description. it could be argued that a more generic term is needed (as in fireman to firefighter) that is more inclusive to elves/orcs/women et al. but Linebeing sounds so lame it's untrue. |
