And here's the second match of the Tournament:

http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=match&id=1549793

In which the fairest maidens of my Only Boys Need Block team not only pulled out the draw against the Hobgoblin Superstars (thanks to some artful dodging) but their honeyed Amazon pots even managed to out-bash the opposing Chaos Dwarves!

(Might have something to do with the lack of Dwarves on the team... This being the No-Block league and all).

My poor AG3 Bull Centaur died after causing a Serious Injury at the hands of a wild Amazon woman. A premature end to what might have been a brilliant career, he will be sorely missed in the coming games. Even more discouraging was that his sacrifice was in vain, as the game ended in a tie.

Ravenloft Lovelies 2 - 0 Ramification

This game was rife with skulls and both downs. Must be we're playing on an ancient battlefield, ya think? Wink

The zombies did a great job occupying the mummies, while everyone else got in on the real action. Unfortunately no one of any consequence died. Those who did got back up and went back to work.

Eventually the Khemri teams will get scary. Until then, bring 'em on!

So the Little Darlings' older cousins did what alolder siblings do, and beat the tar out of them, and, after a trully spectacular first 2 turns (2 SI and a RIP between the 2 of them), the trolls decided they had done enough and were pretty unspectacular the rest of the game. All in all, it was what happens when a stunty team goes up against a superior team, and gets crap dice.

On another note, I have (entirely self servingly) tabled the motion to let goblin and fling teams hire any star without block, as they need the stars a little more than the "Big Guys". The learned commish, HunterX, tends to agree, but we would both like to get the opinions of the league on this issue. Any thoughts?

Well, my Amazons got their honeyed pots handed to them by Hablei's orcs.

http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=match&id=1550365

In truly spectacular fashion, the ladies of Only Boys Need Block managed to accomplish absolutely nothing, while B.L.O.C.K. wiped the floor with them. After the game, my two injured Linewomen promptly retired - I consider myself lucky not to have lost any significant players in that debacle. (Neither of those Linewomen had any SPPs).

It has occurred to me that I'm too used to coaching bashy teams, I really need to work on my tactics for facing meaty opponents. And when you combine bad coaching with bad luck, ... well, this is the kind of result you get.

In what will go down as the goblins greates victory yet, the Little Darlings post a 4-0 victory over the Block Busters. Those less kind would point to the inclusion of the infamous Nobbla, along with the fans' dismembering the ref after his ejection, as the keys to victory. Coach Snappy, on the other hand, pointed to the lads rebuying into the system and a strick adherence to the fundamentals as the reasons for this miraculous turnaround. Coach Snappy did, however, make sure Nobbla's telephone number was in his speed dial...

The Hobgoblin Superstars, despite starting the game with only 10 players, managed to score a 3-1 victory against the powerful (but incredibly slow and clumsy) Khemri! Amazingly, only one niggling injury was inflicted, and the team has recovered it's strength once again after Snappy's Goblins inflicted 3 SI in the game before.

The Little Darlings, while gutted that some last minute heroics could not secure the win, are nonetheless happy with a draw against the powerful Ramifications. They are also happy that for the most part, all their limbs are still attached and their bruises will soon heal.

game 1 - Ramification vs Ravenloft Lovelies

bad start to the tourney for the khemri team, fair amount of bashing went on but seemed to be in the form of skull pows for most of it. was a very tough game with few opportunities, but we tried hard and the loss made us hungry for more. watch out for us in the future. good game and great coach, again good at working my weaknesses

game 2 - Ramification vs Be Lethal Or Cromm Kills

another tough game for us with again a nice beatdown but no scoring for us, we just couldnt catch those few goblins, dodging is now our sworn enemy. but well, overall it was a good fun game which again ive learnt from and shall hopefully improve in the future, great coach as always.

game 3 - Ramification vs Hobgoblin Superstars

the game started badly by giving away td's quite easily, again put the team away fairly easily but was still outplayed by very few players. second half we got our game together and played as we should have all tournament, got the first td with this team, and it was a mummy who scored, the spp from the td game him a skill which was nice in itself but he rolled double 6, so watch out for st6 mummy coming your way. again it was a fun game with a great opponent.

game 4 - Ramification vs Little Darlings

after having been outplayed by goblins before in the orc team, we kinda knew a little better how to attempt to deal with them, an fortunatly that helped us a lot. we beat them down a lot as usual, gave away a td but managed to pull it back as well. great game and things are finally coming together for this team. once again great coach and i wish all the luck to all the coaches ive played so far, for the rest of the tournament.

Immortal Kombat 0 - 2 Ravenloft Lovelies

more's immortals proved no match for the wiles of the lovely necromantics. I hope to become as patient as he when I'm outnumbered and outlucked. Well done more. Best of luck in your subsequent matches.

Only Boys Need Block 2 - 1 Ravenloft Lovelies

The dice have decreed the Amazons the victors over the Necromantic team!

Skill had little to do with it.

<b><u>Beware The Sticks And Stones 0 - Be Lethal Or Cromm Kills 1</u></b>
A quick score by the orcs could not be countered through all the bashing I could dish out (which wasn't much). My throw-ra was able to see the end zone once though...it was pretty exciting.

<b><u>Beware The Sticks And Stones 1 - Block Busters 1</u></b>
I was surprised I was able to pull off a draw against the speedy lizards, but with most of the team KO'd for the second half, it was much easier.

<b><u>Beware The Sticks And Stones 2 - Ramification 0</u></b>
Finally, the Khemri teams square off in tournament two. A couple early breaks, namely a non-regenerating serious injury to one of the opposing mummies and a later non-regen badly hurt mummy opened the offense up for the Stoners, and we were able to squirt into the end zone for a pair of glorious, honey-covered touchdowns!

In what promises to be the first in a series of bloody grudge matches. The Little Darlings took it to a bunch of Halflings that didn't know what hit em. Our own trolls did more damage to us than the opposing team. In short, it was a blood bath.
