Roll of 8+ will break av.

What use is that? Most teams have 8AV or less any how. Wouldn't Mighty Blow be better?

EDIT:

Though I am not sure if LRB5 actually changes anything to do with Claw!

yes, but 8+ is the equivalent of AV7 not AV8

And the new claw stacks with MB.
The idea of the new claw is to break high armour not make av7 av5.

We're talking LRB5, not LRB4... That chart is useless. I posted the words for the change with claws.

As someone mentioned a team can take +AV in LRB5 so later on in a league I can see the use of claws, but early on Mighty Blow is better.

However claws now working in conjunction with Mighty Blow can really increase your armor breaking since you'll break armor on a roll of 7, no matter what AV they have.

Anyone want to chop down some trees?

doesnt really make fluff sense though does it, why does a claw do no extra damage vs the most lightly armored?

Yes, but Mighty Blow has always been better than Claw (as individual skills, not in combos) - so that much is unchanged.

The power, as others have noted, is in the combination of the two.

Obviously the lightly armoured will simply dodge from the claw, even when they go down. To reflect this, low armour doesn't change, but the immobile high armour gets shred to an effective value of 7.

A nutcracker is useless against a piece of leather, while it's destructive against a tin can. Smile

no, it was decided that claw goes through heavy padding just as easily as it goes through light clothing, hence AV7, I think, however snotlings and flings just suck Wink
