The new season of pubbowl will be starting in the next week or so. A new league is going to be set up for just new teams so all new teams will be welcome.

Hi reo, Will the new divisions be ranked in terms of TR?

There seem to be some teams that are much better than the others. This is more of a problem at 7's as the higher skilled players do better at the one on one actions that are more common in 7's

I can answer that one.
No. The new season will be the same divisions except that 2 teams go up one division and 2 teams drop one division (and some others if there are dropouts). But there will be a totally new division only for rookie teams.

Yes, division 1 is the best. You can hire starplayers if you want!
I know, there was some strange replacement taking place this season.

yep some replacements were made as i thought it was best to make sure we had full leagues but think that i made some bad choices and have learnt from them for the forth coming seasons

Hmmm...I like the concept of this league and enjoy it.

I have found that all leagues I play in, find the first season or two a period of adjustment where the "rules" and the best way of structuring the tournament need tweeking. So I would not worry too much about this reo, as I think you will quickly see which coaches are consistant and which are not.

My only question about the structuring is what happens to teams that have a couple of bad matches in a row? With a starting FF of 1 sometimes it is nigh on impossible to recover. Most coaches that have only 5 meen on a pitch for then next game are not going to be "too keen" on finding a suitable match time.

Dont get me wrong I have played a game or too with 6 men and done better than expected, but huge luck is needed to get round that scenario in a league where there is little margin for error.

The problme you are refering to should almost only be present in the rookie division. Higher up you have gained FF and with only 7 players you often get enough cash for a replacement player. And if it occur int the rookie division all you have to do is create a new team for the next season.

Your position in div1 with a rookie team should not be possible any more.

I enjoy the pubowl league, I got a fairly good start and now i have a ff 4.
As your only running a 7 man team I have found that cash is not as big an issue as I first thought.

With the proposed new rookie divison is a great idea and the higher divisions should start balancing out as the seasons continue.
