This ever only happened to me just as my turn beings, as the turnover beep is heard and the game is saved. What happens is this;

* All text disappears (chat box, reroll counters, turn counters, player information)
* All opponent players go invisible
* All buttons disappear

However, I can still actually do things, and if I type my opponent can see what I'm typing (I can't, though).

I have had this happen to me 3 times, and it's no big deal since it happens JUST after a game save. Two times it was fixed by a reload, the last time it happened I had to reload twice to get going.

Now... IS this a client bug, or could it possibly be something else?
I'm running JRE 1.4.2 on WinXP Pro (latest upgrades).

My first guess would be that it is jre 1.4.2. I've seen 1.4.2 cause some graphics problems (buttons changing color and the text becoming the same color as the background) in my real world work application. So I still use 1.4.1_xx. You might want to try going back to this version of the JRE and see if that fixes your problems.

Also, does the jbb window look like a Win XP program? (i.e. does it have the rounded top corners etc?) Just wondering because I have only seen the problem on win xp java programs that use the win xp look and feel.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

I will try JRE 1.4.1, and I will also test setting XP to use rounded corners and see if jbbl got that and report back.

Yes, jbbl has rounded corners in the WinXP theme.

OK I went back to JRE 1.4.1 and I just had this bug happen to me again.

Correction to previous report:
the player icons of my opponent does NOT disappear.. only all text and player pictures etc, even team names on pitch

Update - I'm still getting this once in a while, but realised (heh) that you can get all the text and stuff back just by maximising/normalising window. For you people who know java I'm sure it tells you something about the nature of the problem, but since it's so easy to bypass it's certainly nothing critical.

Thanks for all your hard work!
