Today the street league saw a classic back and forth mirror match between the high elf Mercurial Knights and the high elf Seven Snooty Silverhelms. Nightbird takes a risk playing up a little bit hoping that his handicap will help even the odds. His spothecarys Virus had no effect however on the healthy Silverhelms. The first half looked about as expected with the Silverhelms scoring both offensive and defensive TDs to put them up 2-0 at the half. A very stern half time team talk (as well as a strong talk with nuffl about dice according to Nightbird) shows the knights re-juvinated and even being shorthanded 5-6 manage to get on the board after a great end zone kick and a failed pick-up for the Silverhelms. Further showing that a good prayer to nuffle never hurts. A bad pass by the Silverhelms leaves the ball in a spot for the Knights to run it in again tieing the game. With just two turns left, the Silverhelms just can't find the groove they had in the first half and being without their QB who was injured in the first half...yet another failed throw clinches the tie for the Knights. Very good well fought game, good ups and downs for both coaches on skill and dice. After the game...the scouts realized just how important the Silverhelms passer is, they call him up to the pro's after he boosts his Strength!!. Now without the bonus of the extra strength and their Leader, what will the rest of the season bring for the Silverhelms? Can the Knights carry the pace they found in the second half into the next game? Time will tell.

Breaking news: Valin Taltaur of the Mercurial Knights has been drafted by the Ulthuan Flames!

After 3 well played matches Valin's raw skill as a tough running thrower was evident. He finished his time w/ the Knights having 24 rushing yards, 7 passing yards, 4 completions, 5 blocks & a TD in 3 games! The Flames scooped him up as their new sure handed back-up thrower.

Valin will be flying out via pegasus to Ulthuan first thing in the morning to join the teams training camp. Good luck Valin!

Replacing Valin on the team will be his brother Valahuir who is said to posses some of the same raw talents. Only time will tell folks, stay tuned...

News Flash: Apollo II has accepted a free agent contract with the Human team Gods and Monsters. Though he slogged through only 2 games with his minor team Gods Must Be Crazy, he managed more Blocks than Completions and as many Cas. Gods and Monsters needed a backup QB with a more bash than brains. Apollo II rolled one final Skill, Accurate, before his departure. Good luck and godspeed!

It started as a soggy morning for some elf ball between the Seven Snooty Silverhelms (hereafter referred to as the Silverhelms) and their pro Elf rivals 7 vs Thebes (the 7s) in a fight to hold second place in the early street league standings. Just as the opening kick off flew through the air, the sun broke through the clouds to brighten the day, and as time would tell, shine strongly on the 7s. The day immediately started badly for the Silverhelms, showing that they where still downtrodden from the loss of their leader who was drafted after their previous game. The new rookie QB gets a little to excited and throws and incomplete pass to end the turn before a block can even be made. The 7s reply by scooping up the ball easily. Turn 2, and the Silverhelms already need to reposition to get the ball back, but the linemen still anonoyed at not getting to block in turn 1...throw one right away in turn 2 to dismal results as the more than prepared 7 knocks him into the dirt. (first turn first play dbl 1s...second turn first roll dbl skulls). Not wishing to waste any time, or his misfortune, coach Gorthawar gets his star catcherdown next to the end zone with the ball. Scrambling to catch up...the silverhelms manage to blitz the catcher but can't bring him down. Leaving him to easily dodge away and score. Learning their lesson, the Silverhelms buckle down and get back to basics...using a good solid drive and far safer passing, to finally tie the game just before the half. second half begins and it's the 7s recieving showing perfect textbook pro elf ball. Their star catcher Capaneus just refuses to succum to the Silverhelm blitz and takes the score to 2-1 in just 2 short turns. Silverhelms recieving...it's a perfect kick by the 7s to come to rest in the Helms end zone, leaving them scrambling to reposition again. It takes the coach Malkor 2 turns to get the ball up to the line where he leives its safely caged, but again Capaneus shows why he's the 7s star by blitzing in with a dazzling tackle of his his Silverhelm counterpart...picking up the ball ammongst the crowd and dodging out again, proving he can play both sides of the game. Still ineffectual at bringing the ace catcher down, the Silverhelms can only watch in dismay as Capaneus again dodges the blitz...2 extra blocks set up by the blitz...to make a nice little pass to the 7s blitzer waiting in the end zone. Only two turns left and the 7s have the game in the bag at 3-1. Still enough time left to hone some skills, the Silverhelms easily use the last two turns to their advantage to at least bring the score back to a respectable 3-2 on the last turn. Congratulations to coach Gothawar for showing just why his team are PRO elfs. With play like his though, I don't see how Capaneus can be ignored by the scouts much longer.

I would like to nominate Da Ova Biggun as the worst player in 7s currently. http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&player_id=7217333
13 games played. 2 spps. Both from completed passes. But still he a black orc, thats total toilet. Will Nuffle honour him with a MVP soon so he can get Block? doubtful. If he gets to 20 games without getting to 6 SPPs I wouldnt be surprised....

Ironforge 7s take a shock victory over impaladans Hissy Fits R Us. Due to a disastrous run of injuries Ironforge7s ran out 3 - 0 winners, having cleared the pitch twice. Top of the semi pro league. it wont last. And thanks to Impaladan for enduring a terrible game with good grace.

Breaking News: Thalos Feltanthar has been drafted to the bigs!

After 7 matches Thalos has proven himself above & beyond the mini-league setting, accumulating 4 completions, 3 TD's, 3 casualties & 3 MVP awards. Thalos will start for the Ulthuan Stalkers on the left side as a Dragon Warrior. He boasts the skills Block, Dodge, Tackle & Sidestep & believes he may be the key to taking the Stalkers to the Bloodbowl. Leave it to a High Elf to have such a lofty opinion of himself. None the less, good luck Thalos.

After a much needed rest from the trouncing they took at the hands of Cuba Puddin Jr., the Seven Savage Sisters thought they may get on track after being challenged by Pineappleskitter and his necromantic Snow White and the 7 Lepers. Things looked shaky at the start however. To handicap the Sisters, Chastity the Sisters' star quarterback is arrested just before game time for the murder of the Sisters' beloved blitzer Constance during the last game. (Don't worry folks, it's a trumped up charge by those evil necros, she'll be back next game we're sure) To add to the loss...apparently while on break team Captain Carmin and star catcher Felicity got into some kind of cat fight, and for the game, refused to have anything to do with other and would not be on the field at the same time no matter what. This leaves the Seven Savage Sisters being only five. Not the best way to start a match. Things seem to start innocently enough for the Lepers, winning the coin toss and choosing to recieve. Lepers team Captain Hunter gets the ball easily and hands off to Snow White the werewolf who heads on down field. This is about where the Lepers luck ends though and PinappleSkitter quickly learns the difficulties his team is going to have getting the five blodged girls down with no tackler. Not able to get the line down, he ends up leaving Snow White open. Jumping right on the opportunity, the sisters blitz down Snowy and get the ball away. Eager to show her stuff on the field, the Sisters new blitzer May snatches up the ball and tries to stay out of range of the Zombies and Tower, the Lepers nasty flesh golem. Turn two sees disaster for the Lepers however as Snow White gets pushed into the crowd and surfed into the KO box...never to wake up for the remainder of the game. That as well as an early casualty to one of the zombies by Mary sees the players on the field now evenly numbered at 5 vs 5. Seeing this as a big advantage the sisters proceed to dance around the lepers for the remainder of the first half having May score her first TD on turn 8 after Mary also manages to badly hurt the ghoul Hopefully Better Dodger. The luck for the Lepers is not to change after the half time team talk however as May would go on to pick up the ball and score her second TD by turn 11.
Determined to not be shut out, the Lepers line up again, so see some unusually good ball handling skills by their Captain. They even get a bit of luck as Carmin, the Sisters Captain manages to hurt herself pretty badly trying to go for it to get to the ball handler. Nothing terribly serious though, they didn't have to call the doc in and she'll be back next game. There would be one more bit of great luck for the Sisters however as Blanch, the Sisters' back-up passer and designated fouler, scoops up the loose ball and throws a dazzling pass to May who gets her 3rd touchdown of the day. Not bad for a rookie. Final score Seven Savage Sisters 3, Snow white and the Six Lepers 0, with no players missing next game. My hats off to Pineappleskitter for taking on the challenge of all that blodge, hopefully you can get a tackler or two before you run into the other amazon team, the league leading Cuba Puddin Jr.

The second league match up between coaches CaptainMalkor and Churchill sees another mirror match. This time it's the high elves of the street division the Seven Snooty Silverhelms vs teh Disco Jocks. After watching the first half though I can't tell whether these are high elves or halflings with the bumbling errors on both sides of the pitch. The Silverhelms start the game off well with a well played Blitz, getting to the ball and taking it in for a TD. They line up...and it's blitz again!!! Though this time the Silverhelms can't quite get to the ball after it's kicked very deep into the jocks half. They get a little help though from the Disco Jocks usually superb passer Ghandi, as we can only guess that he forgot his gloves after several failed pick up attempts. The Silverhelms get overexcited however and their lineman Severus knocks himself out trying push ghandi into the crowd never to wake up. That was all the wake-up call the Disco Jocks need, and after a good pass and some decent blocking, the Jocks manage to tie the game. Two turns left though, more than enough for the pull off another TD to go up 2-1 at the half. Second half kick off, and this time it's a blitz for the Disco Jocks!! They get to and catch their own kick, but can't hold it when the Silverhelms bring the catcher down. Snooties recover the ball and move it down the field to score in the next turn taking the game to 3-1. Nixon, the Jocks blitzer does manage to pick up the lone casualty of the game, seriously hurting Ishan the Silverhelms catcher, but the apothecary is on the job today and quickly patches him up. Later be learned was a hasty move by the silverhelms, as the Silverhelms dirty player Silvan manages to hurt himself with a niggling injury on the Jocks next drive! Finally getting some good ball handling from Ghandi the Jocks manage to get the passing done and their catcher Mandela scores the Jocks second TD bringing them within 3-2. Only one turn left however...the jocks need yet another blitz or some injury time to have a chance to tie the game...the kick off only sees a slight change of weather however, clinching the victory for the Silverhelms. To show that even though the passers had their errors...the catchers knew their stuff...the Star catcher for both the Silverhelms and the Disco Jocks are noticed by the scouts and get drafted up to the pros. We wish both Ishan and Mandela the best of luck in the big leagues.

Breaking News:

Another player has been signed from the BB7s league team Gods Must Be Crazy to a 10-day contract. This time it was Hermes, their 2nd Catcher. Purely a receiver with the ability and height to go up and get an off-target pass, he had 11 TDs in only 13 games. His ability was noticed by famed scout Bill Cowherd and will suit up Sunday for the Pittsbergh Stealers. Good luck and godspeed.
