Hi there, i've just loaded the Java client and i wanted some practice games before getting involved in leagues and so on. However after setting up for the first kick-off and placing the ball in the field i am unable to make the turn counter turn to 1. Instead I'm forced to replace the ball and roll another kick-off event.

Does anyone know what i'm doing wrong or is there something i'm not doing? Its taken me a while to find Fumbbl but i'd really like to get involved before the BloodBowl game is released Smile

Try downloading 1.6.0_7, the more recent ones arent really compatible with the client.

I went for a later one, version 1.6.0.2 i believe, this hasn't helped, i've just set up a game again, the mouse still has the ball icon underneath, and i cant click on anything without moving the ball i've placed and (ctrl)+(enter) turned. I'm not sure what it is, i am using a laptop is thats any help?

you have to place the ball then click where it says turn in the blue box at the bottom

Its a simple answer but the simple answers are probably the right ones

Nothing wrong with the client that's how its supposed to work Smile

Have you installed both the full game 8.8a and the patch to upgrade to 8.9?

I have game version 8.9, and I have tried clicking the turn counter rather than using the shortcut key strokes. I think maybe the problem is Java, I did install a backdated version but that didn't work either...
I really have no idea why i can get everything else to work except the actual match itself.

I had that problem when i tried to run the game as a limted user in windows xp. I have to use a account with administrator privilege to be able to play.

I have admin controls too Smile though i do have other users on this computer. Why does it need Admin priviledges? i'll try playing it through the admin defined user. Thanks!

Awesome! Though at the moment I am getting a time out error on the site...
The operation timed out when attempting to contact javabbowl.no-ip.org.
Is there anywhere else to get 8.8a? I'll try again tomorrow if not.
Thanks Rijssiej.

I had this problem in Vista, with the newest version of java.

I solved it by changing the compability mode for the file:
Javaw (in the java/jre6/bin folder)
to "windows2000"

Hmmmm I have Vista 64 bit and this did not work for me. I have the exact same issue. Latest Java and BB 8.9 Beta.

Will play around with compatability and see what happens.

BTW thanks and cool Avatar. Time to pull out some old Albums....
