I have to select my JBB folder every time I launch.

I use vista, my directory is C:\BBowl not in program files. My conf file is on my desktop and has correct location in it.

Any ideas how to fix this?

I've found a solution
On my Windows Vista computer, I use Mozilla Firefox (might be similar for other browsers and Windows 7).
As administrator I make a file called "JBBLaunch.conf" in my Firefox folder (in my case: C:\Program files\Mozilla Firefox)
In the file, I add one line with the path of my javabbowl folder (in my case: C:\Users\Shraaaag\Documents\My Games\JavaBBowl)

It seems to work (might have to restart the browser).

The problem is that your browser doesn't have rights to save the jbblaunch.conf file when it's created - this only needs to happen once and then it's set. Shraaaag's solution is fine - alternately you could turn off the UAC long enough to launch one match successfully. After that you could turn the UAC back on, because the jbblaunch.conf file would have been created.

Disclaimer: You requested this information. I do not, in any way, endorse the disabling of UAC, unless you know exactly what you are doing...

Just start your Browser one time as admin. Select then the bbowl drive and you will never be asked again.
