Latest Java, WinXP pro.

The FFB client modifies the master sound level in Windows directly. I have to go and set it back to lower every time I start the client. I think the sound volume level in client should be independent of windows sound mixers' master volume. Just like it is in javaBB client.

It is a known bug/feature as far as i am aware, it is also my biggest gripe with the client as it makes listening to music at the same time very hard. Also as a far as i know the volume works as intended on vista and windows 7.

I'm on XP and have the same issue. My only real complaint with the client.

why the hell not? you can follow the game without watching on the screen and it's pretty neat sounds too. Also adds atmosphere.

Also as more sound effects get added the more you can follow when spectating a game and not looking at the screen, i.e when you have another program on at the same time.

Wouldent mind playing with sounds on if you could remove the sound for moving players.

Lag? Really? If so, then my connection seems stable and solid enough that I can handle it - never seemed to notice it.

Heh, only those that are fast enough now the difference! Wink But yeah, sounds make you lag a little with the current client, no idea if that is the same for FFB ofc.

On the subject: yes, the way the volume is now behaving is the only thing that REALLY annoys me with the new client. The fact that changing volume changes system volume is really annoying but the fact that when you open client, it changes system volume to your pre-settings on client is even more annoying.
