I don't know much of anything about IRC. Fumbbl is the only place I have ever used it. I am having trouble connecting to the chat through the Java Applet. Is there anything I should be doing to help it connect? The message it gives me is an address and a port it cannot connect to.
Any help would be most appreciated.

After several attempts, I was able to log on. If anyone could suggest a good site to learn about IRC, that would be appreciated.

Go to the site that you got the IRC from and poke around, there should be somthing there. Or, check the IRC's help file.
