Just wondering if there is a way, particularly with Apple products. I saw a couple apps in the iTunes store. Has Anybody tried them out and seen if the work properly?

The client does not scale, so even it were to run, it would be too big for the screen.

Will Windows 8 be supported when its released? Since that UI works the same on Tablet and PC, it might be a nice way to do it.

You've already been warned Blader. Keep off Windows 8. Wink

Wasn't it that Apple does not on purpose allow Java on IOS devices?

one solution is to run the client on a normal computer and then remotely controll that computer from your handheld device
There is lot's of free products out there that can do that.

I think 'fine' is pushing it a bit.

If someone were to work on the resizing what about java to native conversion tools?

If not for playing spectator/replay viewer only.

Or just a completely separate match viewer.

I think you're underestimating the tablet resolution these days. The iPad 3 has a 2k horizontal resolution, it's more than most high end flat screens Smile

But yeah, java no worky. though I see no reason why it wouldn't work on an Android tablet. Besides controls being broken due to it not being built for touch screens.

Just to extend this thread:

1) What about the new Windows-based phones (the Nokia/Microsoft ones - not Android), they might link up better?
2) Anyone tried non-Apple tablets?

Would only be good for speccing but that would be great fun when away from home - IF you can see enough of the screen!

@DrDeath:

If the device supports full Java and has at least XGA (1024x768) screen resolution, it should work.

One other thing of course is that the UI is planned to be used with a mouse. Touchscreens etc may cause troubles in usage. Could be fine, though.
