Having already made a Rotters team that developed quite well to a blitzing go after the ball team, and being rather obsessed with Rotters in general now, I've decided to try and make a Rotters team designed to combat the passing game.

No Claw or RSS and such here, I already know the passer types won't play a team with those, and there's not much point making a team to play passers if they won't play them.

The plan is to get FA, Tentacles, Pass Block, Shadowing, Diving Tackle, Tackle and skills like these to try and force so many rolls it's not funny.

Am I completely mad? Will agile teams play them regardless of what skills are taken? Will I be able to get the skills I want? Will it work even if I do?

I had this exact same thought a couple of months ago... and Bad For Yer Elf have been spanking little elf 2+ asses ever since! Smile

Every single game except one was against those pointy eared fairies!

Very tidy. Those +ST Rotters are just begging for Tentacles I see Smile

I've already got an AG5 Beastman I'm hoping to turn into an interception specialist.

There is no such thing as an interception specialist, just look at the the top ten interceptors.

I've long theorised that Chaos/Nurgle teams needed to spend their doubles on skills that prevented ball playing. For bashing, every player can have Guard and Mighty Blow on a normal skill roll, which is quite good enough (look at any good Dwarf team). I think too many people get carried away with the killer mutations, without considering that their biggest weakness is vs the passing game. Rotters are perfect for that job, with 5 players on the roster starting with FA.

Bah those pansy elves will have trouble passing after your rsc/claw/pile on/st 4 chaos warrior has put their throwers in the casualty bin.

My guess is that your

will never play elves...

Or at the very best few and far in between...

Well, have to hand it to you. Being primarily an elf coach, it's nice to see a few coaches of strength-based teams try an approach other than crippling the opposition.

Or at least try some interesting tactics while crippling the opposition...

hehe, well they will still have a strength advantage over the elves, but the plan is to try and cut down the mobility.

Yeah, if you look at Demolition, who is no longer on the list [he dead... sniff], he only had VLL and Passblock.

Hmm... the best way to find him? He is a beastman from my Chaos team, Forces Of Change. He had 110+ Spps before he bit the big one... I was hoping to give him catch.

So, Interception specialist is not needed as much as harassment. Getting all those skills is a good thing, it can hurt anyone, and even stop desperation plays!

True, but I'm hoping it's just another thing you'll have to deal with in order to play a passing game. Get through the interception first, then hope the FA doen't cause a fumble or inaccurate at the passing end, then at the catching end, then hope you can dodge away.
