I just beat my first 'Super Star'!!
He put lots of my guys out, but his attitude was subpar (maybe because he was losing?). In any case, very excited about my win ![Smile](./modules/PNphpBB2/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Having recently been a "super star" and even "legend" and lost those titles, I'd say don't get too cocky. The better coach tends to win, but it's not that strong a tendency, really. I've beaten lots of coaches I thought were above my level (including the then-#1-ranked coach, when my heavy Orcs dropped the hammer on his Chaos before he could get me), and lost to lots of coaches I thought were below (including my last game, where a Wood Elf team straight up out-Cas'ed my Dwarfs and I still held it to one score). |

Far from 'cocky', I am at a 50% win percentage I expect to lose lots but I think I did play the better game to 'win' this time round. Also first time I faced a 'Legend' and 'Super Star' on the field. Very scary dudes, but my mens were equal to the task!
Tears of Nurgle were on my side as well. |

CR isn't meaningless. But the margin of error in CR is a little under ten points. Straight-up record within a given competitive division is a better indicator, but also far from perfect. Unlike CR, the error there is coach-to-coach, not moment-to-moment.
Example: my CR tends to hover around 161, plus or minus about seven or eight points (in the mid 150s now, was pushing 170 not long ago). My win % tends to hover around 62.5, and is probably slightly inflated over, say, a coach who played a lot with Tier 2 races. |

If CR can make people more happy they beat you then it's not meaningless. ![Surprised](./modules/PNphpBB2/images/smiles/icon_surprised.gif) |

'subpar' is my way of saying, 'He went off!' (not in a good way) But that's ok.
The best part was when he meaningless T15 fouled my random rookie (Rage Foul!). I T16 foul his Legend, he goes OFF!
But Nurgle had the final laugh, he was in the clear, and he trip stumble fumbled and stunned himself (the Legend). I did lol, you would too. |

Step 1: Learn to have fun when beating a high CR player
Step 2: Learn to have fun when beating anyone
Step 3: Learn to have fun, even when losing ![Smile](./modules/PNphpBB2/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

I mastered Step 3 first (ask anyone I've played!)
Then Step 2.
And now, finally, the point of this thread, STEP 1!! |

A gloat thread is a bit over the top, especially considering how broken CR is. As Vince Lombardi said, "Act like you've been there before." In any case, congrats. |
