Hi
I am new to this forum, so pls be kind
Seems like this is the place to get advice from active coaches.
Anyway I am currently running a quite effective High Elf team in a private League. We are in between seasons so don't know future opponents. I have a team where all players have Dodge. Linemen, a guard, some wrestle and kick. Blitzers with one guard and the other tackle sidestep. My question concern the catchers and especially my "star".
Star catcher: Blodge. + MA and now a Dice roll of 6+4
Catcher 2: Dodge, +STR
Catcher 3: Wrodge, Mighty Blow
Cathcer 4: Wrodge.
My last skillup I took MB on Catcher 3 cause I needed the skill for the final match. But what do you Think I should choose for my star? +MA for a near 1-turner. Or a skill like leap, fend or sidestep. I feel I lack some strip ball and tackle, but I think those skills should be placed on my wrodge catchers. |

MA10 is best thing you can get on any elf team.
Apart from ag6 pass block NoS OR POMB blitzer.
TAKE +MA |

With HE taking stat ups too early can make their expenses spin a bit out of control.
They start with good stats and are desperatly needy for skills.
However, once you have a catcher blodged up, +ma is about the best thing you can get and you definatly should take it. Not only just for OT scoring but also because he will be a formidable blitzer and an excellent carrier.. you also would have to move him only 1 square into the opponent zone to be in scoring range which makes him an almost invisible threat. |

Take the MA. OTTD scoring with MA 9 players requires 2 blocks where the first one has to be a push. With MA 10, you just need one and it can be anything but a Skull/Both Down. With that ST3 he could also represents a real defensive threat with that movement for kicks that go deep and aren't easily protected by the offense. |

MA10 is really really awesome. Not just for OTTDs either. Don't hesitate.
As you said: strip, tackle, leap go on the wrestle guys (maybe with the +ST as well). |

Take the +MA. I also have a Ma10 Blodge catcher in a league and he is great. |

Do it! They're not flashy, they're not unique, but they can be a whole lot of fun once you get the ball...throwin? |

Thx for the quick responses. +MA it is. Glad I asked or I probably would have chosen fend. But I agree he would be good on defence as well with 2* +MA. I might join the fumble leagues. Will look into that.
As a next skill on the MA10 catcher, should it be sprint and perhaps sure feet, or is that waste on a catcher like that. |
