Hi!
I'm pretty new to JBB and has concentrated to play with my undeadteam. Yesterday I saw a team with four wights in it, but when i went to the graveyard to raise me another one myselfe, I could read in the "purchase new player" window that only two was allowed. Then I read in LRB that four is allowed. Can I just ignore the 0-2 wights statment in the window or what?

Thanks, Had no idea that it had been updated. Well then, I'm of to train my skeletons in the art of blocking.

There are still some teams on FUMBBL with the old roster, i.e. 4 wights. This is legal. |

Just to expand upon Dementor's note, when there's an official change to rosters, any existing rosters are 'grandfathered' in.
This means that there are still a few dwarf, goblin and halflingteams running around with ogres, for example. They bought them when they were legal and they get to keep them. If that ogre were to die, then the team would not have the option of replacing them. A Gobbo team would only be able to buy new trolls to replace any dead ogres, for example. Same thing goes for the undead team you mentioned. If that team were to lose one wight, they wouldn't be able to replace it. If they lost 3 of the four, then they'd only be able to replace one of them (to get back to the current legal maximum of 2).
When a positional player's starting skills and stats change, the change is applied to the existing players, however. As an example, when the 'Pro' Elves were first introduced, I think the catchers had Catch and Leap rather than Catch and NoS. When they got updated, all the Pro Elf Catchers lost leap and gained NoS automatically. Same thing back on the old FUMBBL when Necros were introduced and Flesh Golems and Werewolves got changed around a couple of times.
This has always been the policy in the past, at least. Who knows how things will be handled in the event of any new changes. |
