I had a different problem with 8.2.
I couldn't run it at all (except as a stand alone game).

So I uninstalled all Java programs, removed the game and reinstalled the whole shebang (with Java 5.0) and presto!!
Everything runs smoothely again. With sounds and all!

kaaskop...am having exactly the same problem..recieved kick and can't select a player. Both on proxy set and direct connect. I thought java 1.5 was still unsupported...but maybe worth a shot? Any other solves?

If my opponent start receiving i can see all his moves but i cant do anything when my turn goes. ps:when my opp ply his turn counter is still setting to 0 (as mine too).
another ... if i receive and the ko result is a touchback i can give the ball at one player but when i click on another player for start the game i give the ball at this second player ... and so to the third... etc.
Problem goes when i host, my opp host and in stand alone too.
Plz help me to solve this problem .. inwhile 8.1 still working.

try deleteing your options.nfo and let it get recreated next time you run the program. Also, make sure you only have ONE java jre installed. 1.5 seems to be working for people now, but I still consider it unsupported because I only have one machine that has it and I don't get much of a chance to test jbb on it.

tried it , same problem (didn't install java 1.5).
to be more specific: when i'm receiving (on stand anlone)
not only do i have the "place ball" icon ,but i can actually place and draw passes with it

also i have recreate the options file rather quickly beacause i can't play without small field option (can only see one dugout then).

I'll have to see if this is a java 1.3 problem when I get a chance.

I have the same start up problems with 1.4.2_05. The Game Launcher simply doesn't start up.
It gets to the point where you have to tell it your user name and password, and then it simply freezes up.

I have re-installled just about everything there is to re-install.

The BB client and Java. I'm back on Java 1.4.2_05. It used to run.
Appearantly something is still remembering I used to have jre1.5 on my system.

Because when I would like to start a game it reports the following:

Java[TM] Web Start 1.4.2_05

Bad Installation. Error invoking Java VM (SysExec)
C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_01\bin\javaw.exe

I have already searched my entire registry for remnants of jre1.5 (found one. changed it.)
I have removed all the temporary internet files including the cookies for fumbbl.
And still it comes with the above message.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks in advance,
Jazz
