Hi,
the LRB 4.0 get the ref is the old version of get the ref. When will this be changed in the client/on the site?

well, isn't the question whether the version in the LRB is the right one. As far as I remember the rule was changed to the one how it is now in the client. If you take a look at the 2004 rules review (which is the base for the LRB4) you can read on page 5:
Rules Review 2004 wrote: | Errate [...] Page 18: Replace Get the Ref! on the Kick-Off Table with: 3 Get the Ref! The
fans exact gruesome revenge on the referee for some of the dubious decisions
he has made, either during this match or in the past. His replacement is so
intimidated that for the rest of the half he will not send players from either team
off for making a foul or ban players using secret weapons.[...] |
So I doubt the version in the LRB 4.0 is correct, but I'm not GW staff ... lucky me |

Jervis decided that he didn't like the new get the ref rule so he reverted back to the old and even crappier GTR rule... |

Yes, Taffsadar is right, it should be changed back in the client. |

@SkiJunkie
just a quick request: could you make this optional (draft LRB4/actual LRB4), and add the option for a +1/+1 DP please ? could allow for some good testing/houserule, as well as preparing for the Vault |

Qoute from LRB 4.0:
Get the Ref! Each coach rolls two dice and adds their
team’s fan factor to the score; the high scorer’s fans
decide the referee has been bought and exact
vengeance! His replacement is so intimidated that for
the rest of the half he will not award penalties against
the team whose fans got his predecessor, even if he
spots them making a foul. If the score is tied, both
teams’ fans get the ref and the replacement will not
award penalties against either team.

They should remove that stupid thing altogether, it doesn't add anything interesting to the game. |

if anything the new ref should seek revenge and spot any fouls for the side that beat up his mate with a 3+ on the igmeoy roll. that will stop the players from fouling which is clearly where the fans get it from. |

A long time ago, the rules used to allow you to use an actual figure as the referee, which moved randomly around the field.
(I am pretty sure this was official early rules, not long after the printing of the yellow and red books, but it may have been house rules) .
Anyway, you could knock over the referee, and while he is down, commit fouls etc, and when he stands up, he throws the player who hit him out of the game.
This was enormous fun, I tell you. |
