PBBL1.9 wrote: | Claw(s) (Mutation)
A player with this skill is blessed with a huge crab like claw or razor sharp
talons that make armour useless. When an opponent is knocked down
during a block any armour roll of 8 or more after modifications
automatically breaks armour.
Frenzy (General)
A player with this skill is a slavering psychopath who attacks his
opponents in an uncontrollable rage. Unless otherwise overridden this
skill must always be used. When making a block a player with this skill
must always follow up if they can. If a 'Pushed' or 'Defender Stumbles'
result was rolled the player must immediately throw a second block
against his opponent so long as they are both standing and adjacent. If
possible the player must also follow up this second block. If the frenzied
player is performing a blitz action then he must make the second block
unless he has no further normal movement and cannot go for it again.
Jump Up (Agility)
A player with this skill may stand up for free at the start of any move; he
does not have to pay three squares of movement. Note that this does not
allow the player to stand up as part of a block as the Block action does
not allow the player to move. |
This means that the Norse Blitzers take a big hit
Jump UP/Springback may be merged back to a single skill with the following description for PBBL 1.10 but it hasnt been decided yet!
Goes something along the lines of...
VaultDiscussions wrote: | Jump Up
A player with this skill is able to quickly get back into the game.
If the player declares any action other than a Block action he may
stand up for free without paying the three squares of movement. The
player may also declare a Block action while prone which requires an
agility roll with a +2 modifier to see if he can complete the action.
A successful roll means the player can stand up for free and block an
adjacent opponent. A failed roll means the Block action is wasted and
the player may not stand up. |
The difference between the roster here and in the previous poll is that the Ulfwereners no longer have Break Tackle, and the Catchers lose Dauntless. One of the main benefits (to the opposition) is that its harder for the Ulfwerener to escape a jam and a smart coach will tie him up so when he blocks he can follow up with frenzy for the second block into a load of assists, without block!
Anyway, enough blabbering from me!
The previous poll results can be found here
As things stand, the Norse will stay as is except for the addition of a Yeti (stats somewhere else!) for PBBL 1.10
Thanks for your feedback

Speaking from a position of North American ignorance, when somebody says "the Norse" I think of Viking-type guys; Berzerkers, marauders, coastal raiders. I like this lineup a lot better from that perspective, but I gather from sk8cn's post that I may have a faulty understanding of what "Norse" means to Europeans. |

I like the newly improved fluff. I think Wild Animal on the Ulfwerner would have been a fluffier way to tone down the accusations of too powerful that many people had. I liked Dauntless on the catchers as it helped create a really thematic team (wild, psychotic, crazy norsemen). I could also see dropping the Berserkers move to 5. I'm interested in seeing the team made more unique. I believe the fluff changes (new positionals) is a big step in the right direction. The specific skills and stats probably still need some real work though.
