White Isle League - Rules Changes for Season Two
All league coaches should post their arguments on, and votes on, each of the points below. You can edit your posts and change your votes until the end of round 7 of the first season, when I'll take in the final votes.
1. Should Khemri now be allowed into the league?
On the one hand, they are LRB, and not actually any more dangerous than other bashers at higher TR. On the other hand, there will always be new TR 100 teams coming into the league, and for them to have the risk of running into Khemri would discourage less bashy teams from joining.
2. Should Ogres be allowed into the league?
On the one hand, they are LRB, and have many problems as a starting team. On the other hand, they are widely considered 'broken', will be heavily altered in the next LRB, as in the long term they can build into absolute monsters, who are very difficult to wear down.
3. Should we change from a 10-day to a 7-day schedule?
I think about 80% of games have been played within the first 7 days of a round, and I think some of the rest have been played to the dead-line - that is, they could/would have been played earlier if the dead-line fell earlier. But perhaps you think a week is too tight a turn-around.
If there are any other points you'd like to debate ... well, it's too late now! You should have PM'd me earlier! Let me know, and I'll note them down to be included in the next season's review. |

Khemri - Yes
Ogres- no , but wonderred if they could be allowed into one of the lower divisions where there would be a tr cap at the start of each season stopping them getting to the heavily broken stage.
10 days - just prefer the extra time available if its needed |

Early on, they're probably less dangerous than Khemri (few RRs, hard to get DP or Block). But in the long term, they can build into something like this:
http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=131107
The idea of a scheduled league is that - if a team becomes too strong - the other teams kick it back down to a reasonable level. But you just can't hurt a team like that one. |

I'm not worried one way or the other. The way my luck has gone with my team, even if I had that might team I'd get mashed. |

I dont like Khemri myself, but i can understand the argument for it, although just another dp skeleton gets boring very fast...
Ogres id say no, theyre useless at low TR and hellish at high TR, and not fun to play at any TR
10 days? I need the extra time myself sometimes due to unreliable internet, and making matchups with people who live busy lives can be hectic, I also know a number of good coaches who dont join such leagues as this for fear of not being able to make a 5 or 7 days schedule with 100% reliability. Id rather play a good game late, than a bad one on time. |

1. Khemri. No.
No ne no no no. NO. Having khemri is one sure way to start a dp arms race.
2. Ogres. No.
See above. If however Khemri do not get in id consider changing my vote to yes.
3. 10 days. Yes.
Agree with whats been said above
4. Fouling BiggieB. Compulsory.

Khemri - Yes. I think someone has to be the bashiest team, so why not. At high TR, it's hard to win with them anyways, which is what tournaments are all about.
Ogres - Hmmmmm. I'm inclined to go with no, but I'm not totally convinced. If I'm saying yes to Khemri because someone has to be bashiest, it should follow for Ogres too, I'm just worried about an uber team like the one shown above.
10 days - Fine for me at 10 days, that little bit extra is great. |

You could always put some Khemri and Ogres in a small box, then leave it for a week.
At the end of the week open the box and wichever race has painted the walls with the entrails of the other team gets to stay?
I know, no need to thank me, i'm a genius. ![Wink](./modules/PNphpBB2/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) |

And your chance to change/add your vote ends ... now.
Totalling up:
Allow Khemri? Yes - 7. No - 1.
Allow Ogres? Yes - 1. No - 6. (I'm interpreting Purplegoo's vote as undecided.)
7/10-day schedule? 7-day - 1. 10-day - 7.
So, Ogres are still banned, and we'll stick with the 10-day rolling schedule. The only change is that Khemri are now invited to the league! ![Shocked](./modules/PNphpBB2/images/smiles/icon_eek.gif) |

And no ogres to contain those khemri!
1. Yes
2. Yes
3. 10 days
Concerning 1+2:
I don't think it's a good idea to rule out official LRB races just because they appear to be scary (can't see them dominating the SWL btw). Properly developed chaos, chaos dwarves, orcs and dwarves are far better anyhow. They are just more established and thus accepted, I'd say. |
