I've signed up (bbpac) - but no team yet. Sad

From what I've read: this simulation seems kind of ... odd. International players supported by 'farm' teams? Picking your line-ups in order to train the players on them (to earn money by selling them), rather than picking the best team, young or old? Picking your match formation by what most needs to be trained, not what the match calls for?

It all sounds rather peculiar to me: the official rules themselves read like those of your usual football sim - the community stuff I read leaves me baffled ... Am I just seeing the wrong aspect of the place?

Hattrick is not a good simulation. It is peculiar, but funny. You have to choose a primary skill and train young players (17-1Cool in that skill. You will then sell them to earn money and reinforce your team.
The best choice is to train young players in a primary skill and choose old and experienced players in the rest of the team.

This seems a bit weird AND wrong, and you will find many ppl telling you that Hattrick is all about money. Be rich and you'll be powerful. It might be true, but after a year I found out that you have to be good with tactical choices on the pitch to win, too. Which is the funny part. You can win with an inferior team, if you carefully study the match and your opponent does not. Apart from that, you will learn quick. Just remember to have fun.

ps: farming teams who only exist to support a national player are SOOO SAD. The newly in-charge Italian Coach decided to start a campaign against farmers (sweden is the EPITOME of farming) and decided to only call to the national team players trained by serious coaches. We lost a couple of Divine+++++ players and many in general conference call us stupid, but I am quite proud of our coach decision. Farmers kill the spirit of the game.

So, if you ever happen to browse through your national conference, tell everybody that farming sucks!

Thanks, Jan: glad it's not just me who finds these things odd! On the inside, these things all seem to be taken for granted ...
