The curse of nuffle…

Mully recruits me to add more fluff postings for the CCC. I love this league so I agree with enthusiasm – this was my big mistake… take heed… for nuffle punishes all happy, upbeat coaches… Lighting struck down, winds beat against the trees and my power went out… Then it came back… I laughed at nuffle’s attempt to stop me in my noble quest… but nuffle had the last laugh; although I had power, I had no internet connection for four days! Four long days with no email, no internet, no access to fumbbl except at work… So now I slink into the press room to post my reports from the great CCC, but creeping in the shadows hoping to avoid any more of nuffle’s wrath…

1st report from Buddy ‘Blitzin’ Ryan (resurrected coach of the blitzing eagles of the early 1990s):
The first game of the Asgard open featured great defensive efforts as each team forced turnovers on pretty much every drive.

see the game: http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=match&id=1103681

Krage’s Khaotic Kowboys held on for a 2-1 win over Skavenboy’s Escaped Rats. Now I’ve always despised the Cowboys ever since the pork chop bowl of olden days (look it up along with the sacking of Troy, the body bag bowl, and the bounty bowl – all true headlines after Eagles-Cowboy games). Now back to these Khaotic Kowboys who have some strong potential! They already have five, count ‘em, five high strength players and some good specialists; and they still have room on the roster to recruit two more Chaos Warriors for a total of SEVEN high strength players. These Kowboys have the potential to someday compete for the Thor’s cup as they and their coach mature their blood bowl expertise and learn to blitz on every down! – Buddy ‘blitzin’ Ryan reporting for the CCC!!!

Gladsheim Cup final four analysis part 1

How they got here:

Grugni’s Grudgebearers (dwarves): won a coin toss after a 1-1 tie to advance over a norse team and beat an orc team 1-0

Not-so-SuperHeros (dwarves): beat an orc team 2-1 and a higher strength wood elf team 2-1

In this all dwarf match-up, the Grudgebearers have more experience and skills, but are slightly beat up. Also these teams met in January where the Not-to-SuperHeros won 2-0

My controversial pick to win is … … … Not-so-SuperHeros

(now before any accusations of grudges against losing a coin toss in that dwarf-norse game come-up, there’s a good chance those rumors are founded Wink )

Stay tuned for more analysis!

Hey! What about the Stonecold Biggins rise to the semi finals in the Gladsheim Cup final four?

More coverage from our reporter in the field:

Didn't get my bet in on Whaaaaa! in time to collect on their win over the Stonecold Biggins. I was going to pick Whaaaa! figuring some of the niggled ogres would miss the game, but when all four missed the game (a virus is suspected but no evidence is available in the replay) it looked very bad for the Biggins. Then it went from bad to worse as Dragg an ag 4 (not a type-o - really he was AG FOUR!) ogre bit the dust and never stirred it again...

For the finals, I'm picking Whaaaa! over Not-so-superheros cuz I'm a dwarf hater and always pick orcs over dwarves!!! Go WHAAAA!!!

Curse MS IE!

I had just typed up a brilliant write-up for the asgard open final when IE crashed before I could click submit. #$%* to MS lack-o-quality. (ask mully for a translation - if you've played or spec'd mully, you'll understand)

So my analytical brain goes with the Specials as the favorites in this matchup, but the Mudslingers can pull off a win if their armor miraculously holds and if either they get a bit of luck or if their wizard can transmute a Specials TD into a Mudslinger one.

My money is on Nothin' Special, but having grown up in underdog Philly (I was 12 before I saw a home team win), I'll be cheering for the Mudslingers!

Go Mully - make me lose my money!

Yeah sure go pick the orks, it's not as if the Heroes havn't been the underdogs throughout the ccc.
To be honest I think this should be the hardest matchup the little buggers will face so far.
We fought them to a tie in last month's round robin (ensuring the silver, when the gold was already out of grasp...damn dirty lizards running circles around my short legged guys....but I digress). It was a hard match last time, and now they are a stronger team, and we actually have to win this one.
