Is there some way to set up a round robin tourney where evereone plays a team in their division multiple times (like the NFL)? I'm trying to set a league up like that but it seems a little unweildly to make them play through 2 or 3 round robins before the playoffs... Any help would be mucho appreciated!

As far as I know, no. Not automatically, anyway.

You could run a number of round robins (in which each team plays the others once), or you could do it all manually, without using the FUMBBL tournaments at all.

Personally, I think shorter round robin rounds (few teams, one match between each) work much better on FUMBBL, in any case - attention spans are shorter than in the real world. Wink Also, the main real world reason for multiple match-ups per season (ie, Home and Away games) just doesn't apply here.

Good luck with whatever approach you take. Smile

Hi, TheHardArtist.

I don't believe there is an automatic way of doing what you suggest. However, FUMBBL's own NFL (see bottom link) solves this problem by simply running the same round robin league twice, with cross-divisionals in between, and then we move to playoffs. The tourney organiser (Kyyberi) keeps an overall score for each team manually.

Best of luck! Very Happy

Thanks Goo! I'm starting a league for the first time... Maybe that's just too much attention span required for my participants... VERY helpful link though! Thanks again!

No probs. Wink

I'm always looking for [U] tourneys to play in, so if there is room for a Euro timezone player, I'll look your tourney up. Laughing

The classic solution is the Double Elimination tourney, where the "first losers" either all play against each other in the "consolation league" that filters back into the Winners of the Winners' ladder, OR they are put right back in against the (top seeded?) winners.

If a "first loser" can hold their own and not get beaten a second time, they are back in the Winners' Ladder.

It usally works pretty well, and is flexible enough that you don't need a "power of 2" # of teams.
