This topic has been discussed with a far higher level of civility in the poll started by Babs, a member of the BBRC and possessor of far more common sense than Force on these matters.

This is what I think is going to happen, given what I know now. When SkiJunkie has the time AND when he is confident that the Vault rules are stable enough to make it worth his while to code them, he will spend some time incorporating them in a new version of the client. He will probably not include all of them at once, since some are more complex to code than others. When Christer has the time AND when he is confident that the Vault rules are stable enough to make it worth his while to code them AND when he knows SkiJunkie is close to releasing a new Vault-compliant client, he will spend some time creating a new Vault division which is as faithful to the Vault ruleset as possible, with the only omissions being the ones forced on him through the limitations of the client. He will NOT cherrypick rules out of the Vault - FUMBBL is about compliance with the rules.

This is what was always going to happen, and nothing anyone else can say will hurry the process along or change it in any way, despite the best efforts of Force and even Babs. It's the way this system works.

As for the fate of Division X, that is entirely up to Grumbledook.

Of course I didn't mean to "delete" teams like "hey where's my Chaos Team, they used to be somewhere in here???"

What I meant is something like shut the place down after an announcement and only list teams created under the new ruleset for some time.

Whats important that there are no old teams mixing up the place thats to difficult to look at, at least for me.

You guys know me I love exagerations...

I just think that the most fundamental things don't even require coding.
Also the direct comparison to LRB would be there for a while. Things like inducements - correct me if i am wrong but didn't we play completely without any handicaps all the time?

If there was going to be a change to DivX, I would imagine the most likely method is that teams would not be deleted, but moved to Unranked. Again, it's all up to Grumbledook so I'm only speculating.

Everything requires coding, either in the client or on FUMBBL. The most complex thing to code is the inducements, since it requires a fair bit of calculations and a whole bunch of pop-ups. And having Vault rules without inducements would defeat the purpose.

please insert "in my opinion" everywhere ^^

The inducements are the least important thing.
The single most drastic change is the "choosen MVP".
Team rosters will be drastically more efficient, player turnover will actually followed by player rebuilding.

Next big thing is the 5 skill levels only together with (what i crusaded for on this verry board) peaking the player at max spp, to make any extra spp not inflate team rating.

(in Vault this is done by making skills increase player value, SPP are irrelevant that way).

And of course loosing ageing.

These 3 things could be done completely without coding, the mvp maybe but i cant imagine that to be difficult.

Force: The chosen MVP has to be coded in the client. No aging is already in DivX. And the 5-skill limit could be coded in the site, but it's hardly useful without all the other changes.

Gil-Galad: You can now download a reference sheet containing all Vault 1.3+patch changes from this site.

I believe that it's always better to get a project in the hand of a few guys than in a whole community. To be honnest, if a great community takes charge of the rules, they tend to keep the same. Yes of course, things can be made wrong but then? A new edition will correct these but this way (being innovative) keeps the game going forward.

So yes you say. THIS IS OUR GAME. Yes it is. You play on tabletop? change the rules. A great part of fumbbl players prefers the old rules; let us keep a division for these open.

But please, do respect the work of game designers. In the end, THEY may be the ones that are right.

I say that but I do not have any idea about these rules. but I don't like some reactions on this topic. You want the game to improve? Give you're opinions but don't start screaming around and saying "no that's bad!"
