I wonder if anyone knows this game as well:
It's kind of BB related. Turn based, skills, traits and negative skills. SPP system etc.
The game was to be played against the computer. U had to carry the ball to ur opponents endzone, tackle and hurt other players. U could pass, hand-off etc. I unfortunately don't remmy the name of this game.
Does anyone else know it ?
I can't give a better description ATM, coz it was a long time ago that I played this game...

THe game resembles to "Mutant league football". The graphics are similar, but it's not quite it... |

Prolly many of u will know "speedball". The game I look for has almost the same graphics. It is REALLY similar to speedball.
HELP!!! PLS.
This game made me so addicted back then |

There was an action game (ie not turnbased) for the Amiga called Brutal Football which was pretty much like BB - more so than Speedball (oh, my old love).
And that had nothing to do with the topic at hand... hardly, atleast. Oh well.

There was the DOS game Blood Bowl which was built around the 2nd ED rules. I have a copy but haven't played it in years. As I remember it was similiar to the JBB client in play but had many faults...such as certain skills were listed and just didn't work. The stats for players were based higer that they are now but it was a bit of (wonky) fun...at least you could play alone 
As for games in real time with a similiar "philosophy" I would suggest you check out "Deathrow" on the Xbox! 4 vs 4 teams trying to get a supercharged "frisbee" through a hoop at the end of a stadium. Passing, shooting running...and feel free to punch/kick/tackle beat into oblivion the other team along the way ! GREAT FUN!!! |

Ah, speedball 2.. Now THAT was a game.. Damn hard though. I got up to premier division once, but then I really got my butt kicked by everyone. Did I suck or was the game really hard? |

It was hard but I managed to get to the premiere division now and then. I can't understand how it is possible to win the godamn thing in the first season though, the top teams are monsters!
I'd really like to see speedball started as a real sport, it would be very entertaining. MMA-gloves with a little thicker padding + boxing helmets would do the trick. I'm certain something like it will pop up in Japan in the next decade. |
