To mark 10 years on this site I have had some new Fumbbl dice made, a bit of background can be seen in my blog
This thread is to provide information on the dice and answer questions. It is not the place to make orders, I will be opening up a separate thread for that in a few days once I’ve spread the word a bit.
There are a total of 100 sets available, broken down as follows.
Opaque Black – 40 sets
Opaque White – 20 sets
Pearlescent Red – 20 sets
Pearlescent Black – 20 sets
The price of each set is £12, this does not include postage and packing. As I am in the UK it will vary depending on where you live. The price listed is assuming up to 4 sets (12 total dice). If you order more than that then it could be a higher cost as it might go over 100g weight, but I will let you know in advance.
UK – £1.50
Europe - £3.00
Zone 1 - £3.50
Zone 2 - £4.00
(see the Royal Mail website for details from what countries are counted as Europe, Zone 1 and 2) |

I'll answer questions as they come up, have anticipated some already.
Q1. Who else is involved with this project?
A. It is just me, please do not contact anyone else in relation to this batch of dice. I got permission from both Christer and Whatball before I started and they both had full sets sent to them a couple of months back. Christer also paid for a full set to go to SunDevil to thank him for all his work with the first batch. Feel free to ask any queries about this set of dice in this thread, or send me a PM if you want it to remain private.
Q2. How was the price of £12 reached?
A. Getting 116 sets of dice made cost me £704.32 including shipping, about £6.07 per set of 3. I rounded this up to £7 to cover costs such as paints, brushes and other items. On top of that a donation of £5 will be made to the site for each set I sell.
Q3. How much will this raise for the site and how will that be paid?
A. If all 100 sets of dice sell then combined with the 4 sets each Christer, WhatBall, SunDevil and myself already have (116 sets total) that will raise £580 for the site. I’ll make a donation via paypal once I’ve received payment for all the dice and post a screenshot for confirmation.
Q4. How will orders be handled?
A. I will be using the forum to allow people to place orders on a first come first served basis and then will take it to PM. Payment will only be accepted in UK currency via paypal, there’s usually a small fee to send cash via paypal as well I’d appreciate it if the buyers cover that as well.
Q5. When will that thread be up?
A. I’m giving a little time for the word to spread to give everyone a chance to take part if they wish. The order thread will be up at Wednesday 20:00 server time. You can make orders as soon as it appears.
Q6. Last time the dice were sold through a Kickstarter with site based rewards and stretch goals like normal D6’s and poker chips, is the same thing happening this time?
A. No, I am afraid there will be no extras, or site based rewards, you are just paying for the dice.
Q7. Will you consider to make more sets if demand is much higher?
A. Maybe, it depends on how popular these are and how much hassle it proves to be. Painting the 1740 dice faces, often with multiple coats is really boring and took a long time (I started this project in Feb), I also anticipate managing the order along with posting multiple packages overseas to be a hassle. If this is popular and goes reasonably smoothly then I would consider it. It would be unlikely to be before 2017 at the absolute earliest though.
Q8. How well will the paint stay stuck?
A. I used several coats of paint so it should last quite a while with normal use. One thing to watch out for is the yellow stars or blue arrows getting dirt caught in them, in that situation I'd recommend using a clean paint brush to remove it rather than a pin or knife.
Q9. Can a non-FUMBBLer buy a set?
A. You don't need to have played any games here but obviously will need an account to post in the forum and send and receive PM's. |

I would buy t-shirts. I would REALLY like to buy 2 sets of those dice in black.
Please PM me if you're interested. I'd pay happily for them. |

That is a concern but I can't think of a fairer way than first come first served to determine who gets them if there is high demand.
Don't want to show favouritism to longer established coaches or people I know. |

I'm afraid not, it's just the dice. See question 6 in the 2nd post. |
