It was another beautiful day at the Mithral Hall field - as beautiful as any day can be underground. Masses of torches lined the walls of the huge stadium, and glowing crystals provided light for the pitch. The Dwarves won the toss, and proceeded to march up the field, but their march was darkened by two things.
Bruenor, blocking for Ivan's advance, hit Gorstag incredibly hard. Gorstag flew up in the air and landed on his head with a loud crunch, breaking his neck and killing him instantly. A shocked silence came over the dwarves and knights alike as the apothecaries worked furiously, but nothing could save him, and the game went on.
Shortly afterward, Jhessail Silvertree bravely stood in front of one of Ivan, and he knocked her into the crowd - unfortunately, right into the gutbuster brigade watching from the sidelines. They didnt realize how delicate she was, and when they finished pounding her, she too was dead.
Ivan walked into the end zone disconsolately. This was supposed to be a pretend battle, not a real one. Death wasn't supposed to visit these fields, at least not when a goodly race was playing another goodly race.
The rest of the half finished uneventfully, but when the Dwarves kicked off, the knights took the ball and formed a formidible cage around it, then they stayed where they were, about halfway between their line of scrimmage and the end zone.
The Dwarves were confused. "Why are they just sitting there? why don't they try and score?" asked Twibbledorf
"Who knows why humans do anything? lets get the ball!" roared Bruenor, and the dwarves charged forward.
The Knights of Myth Drannor's delaying tactic worked. Having drawn the darves badly out of position, the longer-legged humans ran around the charging dwarves, and just as time expired, tied the game. Bruenor chuckled, and said "now that's a trick ye don't see often!" |

The Crimson Death of Waterdeep just arrived, surrounded by fear and a legion of brainwashed fans, who can stop them? |

This is Joe Bucksnort reporting from menacing Zhentil Keep. The overconfident dwarves of Mithral Hall came here today, to face their first defeat of the season. Some people say that there is a curse on the Keep, and the Dwarves felt it keenly. Lacking magical weapons, they could inflict no damage on the flesh golems and werewolves that Zhentil Keep recruited for their cause, and they fell 0-3 to the evil Zhents. Among the injuries, Tred and Nikwillig, the sole survivors of an orcish raid when the thousand orcs invaded, both were seriously injured - Nikwillig forced to miss one game with broken ribs and Tred with a career-threatening injury to his knee. I'm here with King Bruenor. Your Majesty, what do you think was the difference between this game and your others?
"We're dwarves - we defend our halls and tunnels and fight underground. This open air stinkin' city hurt us more than we can say."
"Well, I'm sorry to hear that, Bruenor. Can you confirm the rumors that Tred is thinking of retiring?"
"Joe, we're fer needin to look at 'is knee a bit more, take it day by day an' all - Tred's the best guard we have, and losin him will be a heavy blow. Now go away ye vulture, and let us see to our wounded. And stay away from me daughter!" |

Luskans Cutlass 2 - Black Network 1
Game Comments
The Black Network travelled to faraway Luskan ... and went home beaten and battered. The result looks closer than it was. The difference: Luskan Cutlass played smarter than me, and he had obvoius blessings of Tymora when it mattered ... I couldn´t break his armor much - some stuns and only three times a off the field result throughout the game, resulting in 2 KO´s who came right back and a SI which the healer rescued from having a limp for the rest of his life.
The fans didn´t love it and left the stadium early to get the early caravan back to Zhentil Keep. At least the money was good and Werewolf Night Hunter learnt something new: Blocking! His fellow Urebant spent most of the game nursing his bruises in the badly hurt department, so it was his day to shine ... he didn´t, but you have to pick somebody to be MVP ... |

Ok, now that you know it, time to say that the present tournament was set to end last weekend. I decided to give it an other week, since the Fumbbl downtime we all know about.
So dont worry, this league is still running. Just didnt had much time to show last week and this one since its exams around here, and with exams comes session assignements, etc...
So, the pre-season end is scheduled for next sunday 17th of april.
Good luck with your games guys. |

Oh wise was it? |

***Forgotten Realms Blood Bowl League Sport Center***
The Pre-season of the FRBBL just ended today with a formidable win for the powerfull Knights of Myth Dranor. Cheers to the players and the coach, Ash.
The first real season of the FRBBL is about to start in 2 weeks on may 7th. Old coaches are invited to stay in the league, and new coaches are invited to join the fluff.
New teams must be 100TR [u] official LRB teams.
2 divisions will be set: Rookie (110 TR and less) and Pro (111 tr and more).
The season will be run on a round-robin format, 1 week per round and we have reasons to believe that the commish's of the league will be pretty tight on this.
For more information you are invited to contact Mazzix. |
