I recently faced this vamp and while you already have excellent skill advice in this thread. I think the main advice I'd offer you is:
Stop trying to beat up trees, they're not worth it.
Carry the ball with him.
Don't be afraid to use him, his huge TV needs to carry its weight. |

Yeah block dodge and do everything with him. I had a st5 blodge elf and the high strength should mean they can do anything. Such a good player. Bt is a cool idea, ss would be good, tackle Mb both good for blitzeing every turn. I would play a few games and work out what they did on the pitch and skill accordingly. So if he’s static as a roadblock tackle guard sf would all be nice. If blitzing Mb could be good. Pro is never wasted onvamps. Enjoy |

he'll be virtually unstoppable as a ball carrier. |

What should I do with this last skill (normal roll) ? Tackle, sure hand, side step... ?

I liked the Break Tackle and Sure Hands options. Depends on the level of risk you're willing to take with him. Given the above comment from Purplechest, I'd go towards Sure Hands for you.
I'd personally prefer Break Tackle, as while it means you'll be stuck in the middle of what used to be a cage (or similar) by that point your opponent should have too many things to worry about to be able to focus all attention on your stat freak vamp. |

If you see many elves go with sure hands. If he is a main blitzer go with tackle. If he is a general ball carrier go with break tackle.
Having said all that, Stand Firm would be fun too.
Tough call, but a problem I would love to have. |

Yeah, nice choice to have ^^.
I consider break tackle but it seems suboptimal with vamps and their gazes on an allready ag4 guy. But hell yes, it also open huge cage breaking ! |

Sure Hands:
I wouldn't take Sure Hands on any vamp but if you insist on having one take it on another vamp instead and use that one as ballcarrier against strippers and this one against non-strippers.
Break Tackle:
I would consider it if he already had Tackle but not otherwise.
Pro:
Great skill on vamps but on a vamp like this other skills are probably better.
Side Step:
Great skill on this vamp.
Tackle:
Great skill on this vamp.
I would take Tackle. |

Mb is a waste here. Do not even consider. Block/Dodge/Tackle/BreakTackle would be awesome here. But so would be SideStep over BreakTackle. |

I'd give him pro
helps OFAB, blocking, catching, gfi, and most of all, hypnotic gaze.
it'll maximize his awesomeness. |

I'd specifically *not* give him Pro for the reason that he should be such the focus of your team that he gets the reroll for the turn... don't even leave it to chance. Break Tackle would make other coaches play differently or suffer the consequences... but Side Step or Stand Firm would give him run of the sidelines. Being ST6, I wouldn't be afraid of others hitting him trying to knock him down... but I sure would try to surf him with a -2D hit if given any type of chance.
Back when Stand Firm meant you didn't suffer a turnover on a failed dodge, it would be a no brainer - I offer it as an option here, too. You already have what is best for him, so it really depends on your playstyle. |
