I think Elves will have 2+ passing on Throwers, Linemen and Wardancers. Catchers will be specialist catchers. I dont think they can nerf the ability of all elves to be passers. Maybe each thrower will get extra skills to make them attractive (starting Leader?) |

And let's not forget about the new fumblerooskie skill that allows to put down the ball without causing a turnover. With elves you'll be able to move the ball by handing it off, fumblerooskieing, and then you can still pass.
I think it's more likely that lineelves get a PA of 3+, but it's really not that much of a nerf. With the current rules it's already not a good idea to pass with non-specialist throwers.
If anything, the new rules will make the elf throwers stronger by comparison with lineelves, and you can still run and move the ball with the rest of the team (even more than before with fumblerooskie). |

Edited out the direct links to the allegedly leaked material. Leaving links to sites/videos that talk about it as that could be seen as news reporting and not necessarily a link to a copyright/NDA breach.
Obviously, I'm not a lawyer and if GW officially asks me to remove references to those videos / sites, they will be removed as well.
The removal is based on the following ruling: No links to non-official sources of GW copyrighted imagery. In this case it's almost certain that these are legit GW Copyright.
Those of you who are interested in finding these images, they are pretty easy to find on other social media. |

Perfect time to be away for a week.
Very excited about these changes, and that some of the rumours I had heard have proven to be true. |

A quick question, Christer, as I see you on this topic.
Do you think it will be easily doable for you to update client when these rules will be official (even if that take some time) or do you already see some things which will be really hard to update (thinking about new PA characteristic for example and pass action ruling changes, as it could force you to really change a lot of things in your program but I suck at computer programming) ?
EDIT : Have just seen that, sorry for unuseful question : https://fumbbl.com/p/blog?c=Christer&id=23170 |

This has the potential to be quite a mess. |
This could be pretty good for old-timers. I'm wondering though if it will make the game even harder for newcomers to pick up. |
I think the opposite. The changes seem to have a focus on making things easier for newcomers out the box, and then extra options for veterans. Nothing I’ve read so far has me worries about the changes and a few of them I find quite exciting! |

I like the idea of making passing more viable.
I'm not convinced that it will work though. We'll see.
BB is a game of minimizing risk. That's why the pass ruler is also called the lose-o-meter.
If the core of the game is unchanged, then I think running the ball (and stalling) will still be the safest tactic. Currently, even elves try to score on turn 8.
I think it is cool that AG3 Throwers will be better. Both better in the absolute sense, and better in comparison to everyone else (who got worse at passing). But you don't want to run the ball on a thrower. You want to run it on a blodger. Sure, if something goes wrong, then it is nice to have a thrower around to get you out of trouble. But just like it is now, that is dubious investment.
I hope to be proven wrong though |

My belief is that by making passing plays slightly easier, it may force people to play a deeper defense, or take catchers a bit more seriously in the long term. Not necessarily going to completely alter the way teams play, but the threat will change some things, opening up the play to an extent.
This would, of course, be a stealth nerf to teams like Dwarves or any other roster that likes to aggressively cage.
I'm excited to see how it develops. |

So doing some sleuthing seems a lot of buzz is about the two teams pictured with minis as the starter set. One is an orc team with a troll and some models which aren't the current orc ones, and the humans are not the current human models.
Seems certain that the humans are the new Noble/Imperial team that is featured and the other team is some form of Savage Orc team. Both featured in the My Dugout app, the Savage Orcs having a Swamp Troll which supports the theory. But definitely seems like with only 22 pages set for rosters that some teams are disappearing and we already know that Snotlings are a new team arriving... |

I started with WHFB 5th ed, 40k 2nd, and blood bowl 4th. Each game got better in their subsequent edition, and then things went terribly wrong. WHFB destroyed, Nu 40k is not my tastes, but hey blood bowl was amazing in its consistency. Well you can’t escape the GW reaper forever. I blame BB2 bringing it onto the GW profit radar. RIP blood bowl, you will now only be played by a steadily shrinking fan base until it is just the super nerds playing when they don’t have time for battle tech. |

This is exciting! I'm happy that GW is supporting blood bowl like this, and also adjusting the rules to make passing less risky for teams.
And two more new teams? Sweet. And goblins have new stuff?
EXTRA SWEET! |
