Good afternoon,
My local group is having a 1200GPS TT tournament, (well hopes to, given the current climate in the UK it's not a sure thing).
I'm planning on taking my Skaven team but would appreciate some assistance on the list as I'm currently stuck between three choices.
Rules:
- BB2020
- Up to 2 x Star Players
- Tier 1 Teams get 160K to spend on skills. Excess cannot go on team building.
- Tier 1: No more than one double
- No more than 1 skill per player
- No more than 2 of the same skill choice
Tie breakers are decided by TDs then Cas.
List 1:
Varag Ghoulchewer
Rat Ogre - Block
GR - Sure Hands
GR - Dauntless
GR - Wrestle
GR - Block
SV - Guard
SV - Tackle
3 x Linerats
2 x RR
Total: 1200GPS
List 2:
Varag Ghoulchewer
GR - Sure Hands
GR - Horns
GR - Wrestle
GR - Block
SV - Guard
SV - Tackle
5 x Linerats (1 with Kick)
3 x RR
Total: 1200GPS
List 3:
Kreek Rustgouger
Glart Smashrip Snr
GR - Sure Hands
GR - Horns
GR - Wrestle
GR - Block
SV - Guard
SV - Tackle
5 x Linerats (1 with Kick)
2x RR
Total: 1195GPS
Grateful for any feedback or suggestions!
Cheers
Chris |

Did not think Kreek was in BB2020?
Your first list looks to have 160k of Skills. Were you adding unspent money to get more skills?
I would go Other. Take Hakflem and/or Glart not Varag.
At 1200 you can get a full 11 players with Thrower, 3 TRR and one of those. Alternatively take no star and have 13 players including Rat ogre. |

All three lists have 160 in skills, provided that secondary skills are costed at 40k. It was not stated what the tournament was using for skill buy costs.
150k would be a silly build if skills are 20/40. The 10k would be pointless. |

Cheers for the replies Gents, interesting view on the Kill em all list! Had much success with it?
Thank you for the catch on the skill cost, typo on my part. Edited original post to reflect the accurate cost of 160K.
I clarified with the tournament lead regarding Kreek - all star players featured in Spike Magazines can be taken not just the ones in the 2020 rulebook or Deathzone. |

Made a reasonably similar Human kill list that also included Deeproot. It was powerful but very susceptible to bad dice. Fun though. Mighty Blow +2 on a three die block is a big punch, and who doesn'tlove that? |

Morg is a big chunk of TV. I don't think he would generally prove worth it. As you still wont be a blocking team. |

I said it was fun. I didn't say it was good. |

The first tournament that allows Star Players I will try out Morg in a Skaven team. He seems so devastating with MB+2, Block and easy 3DBs. Since Rats are so cheap it´s not that hard to fit him in.
I fear in general that if Stars are alllowed we will see mostly the same ones on a lot of teams. Also I wonder when people expect certain stars (Hakflem, Griff) and try to build against them (Strip Ball for example maybe?). |

I think the changes to star player cost and availability are, by far, the most significant and disruptive change in the new rules when you talk about tournaments.
I think some strategic changes to alter the meta in some small ways would have been a great thing. That isn't what they did at all. They made grand sweeping changes that are going to cause some tournaments that do not anticipate the impact and experience a negative effect on the outcome when someone rolls up with a min-maxed nightmare squad with ridiculously powerful stars for too cheap. |

I am also not a fan. Still, let´s see how it will go. Maybe TOs will restrict some players by cost, maybe so Morg can only play for Stunties, Griff can´t play for Dwarfs but Zug can, etc. |
