I promised myself I'd get some sleep, but there's no time for that. Afterall, I have to announce that the first round of Mixup Nutty Foosball has been completed.
It was a little hectic keeping track of it at times, so I may make some minor tweaks during the week. It did work out, however and I hope you all had as good a time as I did.
So, without further ado, here are the results after the first tourney:
Screech is in the lead with 39 points!
AlcingRagaholic is second with 34!
Third is a three-way tie! LurkingGrue, GorTeX and Dagda331 each have 30 points.
The rest of the field consists of caileanhawk (21), celas (15), BadMrMojo (14) and J_Fits2005 (7).
Congrats and thanks to all who played. The summary of the scoring and a few thoughts on how to proceed will be up tomorrow night, most likely. |

Here's the scoring summary from the first night of MNF. Teams of two were randomly formed and are listed as pairs below. Each round, the pairs randomly changed again - meaning that the person you pummel this round could be your partner the next. Points were based on the usual formula with some minor tweaks: (10 for win, 4 for tie and 2 for each TD, CAS and INT).
Round 1
LurklingGrue (vs BadMrMojo) 6
Celas (vs Dagda331) 22
Total: 14 points each
"A heartbreaking tie
for grue which lurks in the dark.
Celas saves his butt."
GorTeX (vs Screech) 6
BadMrMojo (vs LurkingGrue) 10
Total: 8 points each
"Tough match for the dwarves.
Vikings refuse to stay down.
Orcs pulled off a tie."
Screech (vs GorTeX) 18
Dagda331 (vs Celas) 2
Total: 10 points each
"Mighty midgets run.
They fall to pointy-eared friends.
Norse, however, score."
Round 2
AlcingRagaholic (vs GorTeX) 20
Dagda331 (vs Caileanhawk) 20
Total: 20 points each
"'Gaze upon my wee
tiny fury and despair!'
'Flings and Norse kick ass."
GorTeX (vs AlcingRagaholic) 12
LurkingGrue (vs Celas) 20
Total: 16 points each
"Fearsome in battle,
The dwarf alliance Stands tall.
Figuratively."
J_Fits2005 (vs Screech) 0
Celas (vs LurkingGrue) 2
Total: 1 point each
"Ouch. Just ouch. I mean...
Ouch. Rough round for both coaches.
I-N-T only."
Screech (vs J_Fits2005) 24
Caileanhawk (vs Dagda331) 6
Total: 15 points each
"Rookie Chaos are
Not so scary to the flings.
Screech brings scores up, though."
Round 3
AlcingRagaholic (vs Caileanhawk) 28
Screech (forfeit) 0
Total: 14 points each
"Z continues his streak.
By laying the smackdown on
Some wounded chaos."
Dagda331 (forfeit) 0
LurkingGrue (forfeit) 0
Total: 0 points each
"No one played this round.
Sadly, Dagda's opponent
Couldn't make a third."
GorTeX (vs BadMrMojo) 12
J_Fits2005 (forfeit) 0
Total: 6 points each
"GorTeX and his dwarves
looked very strong but just tied.
The orcs got lucky."
BadMrMojo (vs GorTeX) 8
Caileanhawk (vs AlcingRagaholic) 4
Total: 6 points each
"We got two games in!
Unfortunately, we both
Got smacked around, badly." |

Tough room. I bare my heart with 11 unique verses and not a word. Tough room, indeed.
Oh well, there's still time left to sign up for Mixup Nutty Foosball round 2. Random skill picks and a team cap mean that a rookie team can still jump in, while random teammates each round (along with the inevitable weeks off due to vacations and such) mean that one week's worth of league points is not insurmountable.
... Maybe I just shocked them into silence with my soul-wrenching poesy...
Nah. Tough room. |

go with the 'shocked into silence' bit...it'll at least make you feel better
Hopefully, my dwarves will have learned how to block this week.... (that is if I can even make it...I'm going to be out of town, so it all depends on if my hotel room has good internet access or not... |

I dunno I always though haikus lose alot when put into a language foreign form it's native Japanese.
And why is it that the shortest literary form has the most rules dictating how to write it?
Oh yeah, and also, how in blue blazes did I come on top for the first week? It truely is a mixed-up nutlicious league.
C'mon everybody, put down you CHILDREN'S books of wizards and witches. If you're around during the hours of 7:30 pm CST (that's 01:30 GMT) I guarantee you won't have as much fun as you would be if you were participating in the MNF. Your money back if not satisfied.
Trust me all the cool people will be there. Don't you want to be cool?
oh...and for some linguistic...um...chicanery...um.....
MNF: The sensational second sortie, show-time starts at seven-thirty central, see-ya.
Man, I love me a good alliteration. |
