Yes.
Except if the ball owner has sure hands.

I would say that "Dodge/Stand Firm" would not work either. But need a specialist to answer that one.

I just tried with "Dodge/Stand Firm" and the game make the opponent to lose the ball on a simple push even if the player stay on his square.
I guess that it is the rule.

It's the result on the die that triggers strip ball. Unless a skill specifically says it effects those results, or the Strip Ball skill, then SB will work. Stand Firm won't matter, yet surehands or tackle would. SB has a 50% chance of takeaway against a player with dodge, so don't mess up your takeaway player by giving them tackle. Frenzy is a good trait to get a ballstripper. Getting surehands or big hand are also good picks.
Once I was facing a witch elf with strip ball on the tabletop. She hit my gutter runner, stripped him, missed the scatter, it bounced back to the runner, who picked it up, she hit him again, stripped him, failed to pickup, and then the same thing happened again! It was so funny it caused a 5 minute delay of game because we could not breathe enough to play. To this day I call it the Hot Potato Matchup. |

But, if they have tackle, and roll a PUSHBACK/POW then a dodger goes down and drops the ball anyway. Ball is still free, and the now former ball carrier exerts no TZs on the ball, making it easier to pick up, and has to stand up to rejoin the play. |
