A busy COSM day yesterday with 5 matches played. So far no-one has broken past 6 league points. There are 9 teams with 6 points each.... all from different races. Now THAT's balance.
Reminder : If your week #3/#4 games are colored "purple" on the schedule you can go ahead and play them early. This might help speed the tourney along a bit.

Forever young wolves (Goblinux) and Raven Banner Valkries (Indur) are the 1st 2 teams to qualify for the Jupiter Cup (KO Tourney #1). 20 Games left to determine who will join them in the 1st Playoff.
I'm glad to see the games have picked up pace. The sooner everyone plays the sooner we can kick off qualifying for KO Tourney #2. |

<b>Jupiter Cup Playoffs</b>
<b>Men is What We Are 3 vs 2 Fast Too Furry 1</b>
In the most lopsided game of the playoffs, the humans broke through sakven armor like paper. Down 1-0 at halftime with only 2 gutter runners left, the rats proceeded to roll a 2-2 on the pick up followed by a failed dodge 1-1 and handed the game to the humans.
<b>Inkubus Sukubus 2 vs Risso's red Army 1</b>
This was a dead even matchup where the luck was with the orcs. Despite stellar defence, the orcs were able to break through for TDs on the last turn of each half for the win.
<b>Xemri 3 vs Forever young wolves 2 OT</b>
The best game of the playoffs wasn't decided until the 24th turn. There was plenty of carnage despite the fact that both DPs were thrown out after their 1st foul. The wolves took an early 1-0 lead, but heat exhaustion apparently effects Necro worse than Khemri (who must be used to the desert sun) and Xemri was able to outnumber and outbash their opponents for the win.
<b>Raven Banner Valkries 2 vs Xotox Hellraisers 0</b>
The busty zons outslugged the undead and sent them wimpering back to their coffins. After taking out both mummies and leading 1-0, the Undead layed down in the 2nd half, afraid to be beaten by the women any longer. |

<b>JUPITER CUP CHAMPIONSHIP</b>
<b>Xemri 2 vs Men is What We Are 1</b>
Admittedly not the most exciting game ever played. (or interesting for that matter). Xemri bought Ram-Tut before the game to add to their muscle (as if they needed anymore muscle). The opening kick off managed to land in Ram-Tuts lap and the Khemri slowly strolled for an 8 turn march towards the endzone. Both DPs were ejected early which helped lessen the carnage factor.
Second half the humans put together a nice scoring drive but were not able to stall much. The ensuing kick off managed to land in the lap of ANOTHER mummy resulting in another slow stroll to the endzone and game winning score.
Congrats to the 1st cup winner. We will see if they are able to repeat a 2 mummy TD performance in the future. |
