So I have been wondering which is a better route to take. This is regarding big guys(ogres, krox, trolls) who dont get G access unless doubles. Tackle has its advantages for dealing out more damage and putting a damper on plyers dodging away. Dodge helps with survival and pairs really well with BT. So I ask the masses, which do you prefer on your big guy? |

Depends on which big guy TBH
Loner Big guys? does the rest of the team have easy access to tackle? what is the role of this big guy? roadblock? ball-carrier? hitter?
Surehands and pro can be option, or even claws/tentacles.
But to stay on topic, most of the time I would take dodge... or pro |

Tackle if you are talking about a Stunty big guy. Dodge if you are talking about a R/B/L big guy. |

Dodge! But, I am looking at doing a Pact Mino build where I take Dodge on the first double, and Juggernaut in place of block. Dodge pairs wonderfully with Break Tackle, and Juggernaut is a S skill, available on a normal roll. He would be blitzing almost every turn anyway. If he gets a second double, then tackle. He would be vulnerable to a Pow/Skull on defence, but tackle will I think more than make up for this: 3 dice blocks with tackle & MB, using BT / Dodge, would be sweet. Another double, and I think I would take 2 Heads: dodge into a cage and splat the carrier. I don't rate Pro at all: I'd rather spend the TV on a skill that I know will work every turn. |

It depends what you want the Big Guy to do on the team.
Azure has had a lot of success with a Killer ROgre Same Axe, who went without defensive skills to maximize his killing potential.
Tackle isn't very common choice for Big Guys in regular Blood Bowl. Generally speaking, people prefer Block, Dodge and Pro, unless they have mutation access on doubles, then Tents and Claw becoming popular. |

What Tzij said for 'normal' Blood Bowl, but in Stunty I'd definitely take Tackle instead - lethal. And besides, there isn't as much for a big guy to dodge from in Stunty! |

My thoughts exactly. The thing you have to remember, how easy is it to get a 2 die hit on a big guy with an ST 3 tackle player? Not easy if he's supported.
How many ST 4 or more players have tackle? Not many.
I'd still go dodge in Stunty, but I play an attrition game. Tackle is probably a better option though, but I think blockle/MB is a bit broken in stunty so I try not to take it. |

On bash teams with guard i find big guys don't have to take too many 2d blocks so i'd only go dodge if they have or are planning to take break tackle. Tackle is great for the reasons you've stated.
On non bash teams, dodge could be better (i wouldnt know) |
