Instant tournaments are great fun, and anyone can organise one.
Just get 4, 8 or even 16 coaches who want to play 2-3 games in a row together, invite them to a group, and create a tournament.
Or if somebody is advertising one, join the IRC channel they are talking about and prepare to increase your fun factor.
