Another victory for the Corsairs. Morpho was a beast, springing the ball loose on the opening drive, then adding 2 casualties and a completion to earn a skill. The Dark Dweller pounced on that early loose ball and scored, earning her the MVP and a doubles skill, Juggernaut. Hardy Lineman Konk was able to run one in as well and picked up Blodge. Finally, the healed team captain Bloth, who spent most of the game directing from the sidelines, took to the field to start the second half. He demanded the ball near the endzone and scored, Steeling his Nerves. The Corsairs look forward to a key matchup with their Pro Elf cousins. |

Another victory for the Corsairs in one of their hardest matches to date. After the receiving the ball, the Dark Elf offense was harried at every turn by their Pro cousins, aiding by a mysterious pair of bracers they acquired in their travels. Only by the grace of Nuffle did their Veteran catcher fail a key blitz, allowing the game to go into the half tied at zero. The Pro blitzer was still recovering from a vicious hit and stayed in the KO box and the sweltering heat prevented the bracers from having an effect in the second half. Aided by a deep kick and the continued ace Shadowing of Assassin Bloth, the Corsairs took the fight to the Slevin in half 2. Team captain Bloth stayed cool under pressure, expertly maneuvering the ball as the Dark Elf knocked one opponent out after another. In turn 8, only a single Pro remained on the pitch when Bloth ran in the game winner. Despite the stellar play of Joat, Bloth's charisma won the crowd and he was awarded the MVP. Due to the tenacious nature of the match, Bloth ordered a few days of rest and no Corsairs were able to skill up. |
