i've been encountering a problem over the last few games. in delight i got a few players with 5AG, only to realise now that i havent got the foggiest clue how to use them effectively...

so, i'd like advice on how to maximise your High AG players, both skillwise, and in-game 'effective' moves...

cheers...

there are several ways i like to develop my high agility players.
for blitzer you can go stripball leap, which make great cage breakers
and you can go pass block catch leap. for a great defender

Leap, dodge, and Strip ball. Neat combo. Catch+dodge+passblock is another one.

Or you can just start by making people go complete batshit insane when you ignore their tackle zones, walk through their line of defence and put your TZ where you want it.

I'll hold him back until I need him. Then I'll start doing funky stuff with him and waltz through my opponents line till he gets where he wants to be. remember, this guy dodges into a tackle zone at 2+, picks up the ball in a tyackle zone at 2+... A 3+ is a fair roll and that's TWO tackle zones... Go wild. Smile

2+ dodges in a TZ must be the nr1 best thing about them.

I use them to threaten the ball, able to pick it up should it ever hit the ground.

It depends on the race and position of the player and last but not least on the rest of the team.
Agility tests are taken quite often during a match:
Passing, catching, picking up the ball, dodging and interceptions are activities almost every player can do (some cannot because of no hands)
Leap, hypnotic gaze and right stuff(landing after ttm) are skills which offer additional abilities which need an agility test.
Since a roll of 1 always fails and a roll of 6 always succeds, the influence of the players agility is limited. So don't play with the illusion of ignoring tacklezones. Failure on many of these agility tests causes a turnover, some an armour roll.

AG 5/Leap/Guard is a real winner, especially combined with another AG 5/Leap/Strip Ball player. It's very hard to defend against properly.

The best thing is probably the ability to extract the ball from almost anywhere, though. I'd be very inclined to try to give one AG 5 layer Dump Off, and have him dump off to another with AG 5 in emergencies.

Pass Block is an obvious skill. Combine with Tackle/Diving Tackle for a great anti-passing player.

No matter what AG the guy has, a 1 leads in a nasty armor roll. Razz

no matter what you go with, agility increases are always sweet. If you manage to pump up the Ag on a powerhouse, you can easily make a moving wall to smash the ball carrier and snag it up.

Arg, he dodges out all my tzs.

If you are going to leap, dodge, block, intercept, pass and all and many times a turn and your player is going to gain a limited number of new skills (and his expected livetime is getting somewhat sorter because of ag5 secondary efects) well then classic elven skills like Dodge, Block, Sidestep make healthier players and I would think about pro (Leap is greatest for ag5 but sometimes it fails and sometimes it is easier to dodge)
